Peru Mining Exhibition (EXTEMIN Perumin) has evolved into one of the largest mining exhibitions in Latin America since its first edition in 1954. Held in the southern industrial city of Arequipa (the second largest city in Peru), it coincides with the Peru International Prospecting Exhibition and Mining Resources Seminar. The exhibition enjoys strong support from the Peruvian National Energy Resources Department, as well as the Peruvian Mining Association and Machinery Equipment Association. Peru Mining Exhibition (EXTEMIN Perumin) attracts and invites mining technology managers from Peru, Latin America, Asia, and Europe to participate in each session, in addition to technical academic exchanges, professional buyers invited by the organizer ensure the trade results of the exhibition. In 2015, China's mining giant Minmetals acquired Las Bambas, the world's largest under-construction copper mine, which will greatly boost Chinese mining equipment companies' development of the Peruvian market.
