Oman Building Materials Exhibition in Muscat, Middle EastODBW

The Oman Design & Build Week (ODBW), held in Muscat, Oman, is the country’s largest and most renowned trade show for building materials. Organized by Oman Expo, it enjoys strong support from the local government. In 2009, the event was accredited by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, reflecting the latest trends in the sector.

At the previous edition of the Oman Design & Build Week (ODBW), the exhibition spanned 18,000 square meters, with 373 exhibitors hailing from China, the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. The event attracted 15,060 visitors. The product range was comprehensive, covering everything from construction equipment, tools, hardware, plastic and rubber products, flooring materials, and doors and windows to machinery and equipment for infrastructure development. Both in terms of exhibit diversity and visitor demographics, the show demonstrated a high degree of industry specialization.

China and Oman leverage their respective trade strengths to engage in highly complementary exchanges across a wide array of goods and sectors. On the import side, China primarily sources mineral fuels and related raw materials—energy‑related products—from Oman, while exporting electromechanical equipment and building‑material products to Oman. This mutually beneficial trade relationship has contributed to the shared economic development of both nations.
