The Emirates Perfumes & Oud Exhibition is a renowned perfumes and oud exhibition in the Middle East. Over 230 perfume manufacturers and 500 brands from the region and internationally participated, marking a twofold increase compared to the previous year.

Abdullah, Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah, noted that the perfume industry is thriving in the region. The exhibition provides a dedicated platform for industry traders, producers, and experts to network and exchange insights. Perfumes and fragrances in the Arab region are highly distinctive, typically featuring oud as a core ingredient. Oud is extracted from the resin of trees in the Thymelaeaceae family (commonly known as agarwood). When these trees are infected by mold, they secrete a substantial amount of sap, which over time solidifies into a dense resin at the tree's core. After harvesting, these resins are distilled into a thick, dark brown oil known as oud. Reports indicate that 70 kilograms of wood yield merely 20 milliliters of pure oud extract.
