China Shanghai Design WeekSIDW

The Shanghai International Design Week (SIDW), also known as the Shanghai International Design Festival, is a grand annual event for designers hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Industry Committee. It aims to gather top international and domestic design resources, brand enterprises, and industry leaders through 365 days of design activities plus one designer carnival, creating a platform for showcasing, exchanging, and connecting the global design industry. The event also provides a growth platform for designers and promotes Chinese design.

Shanghai has long been renowned for its diverse culture and innovative, inclusive, and open urban character. In 2010, it officially joined UNESCO's 'Creative Cities Network' and was awarded the title of 'Design Capital', providing endless possibilities for the incubation and development of creative design. The Shanghai International Design Week SIDW was born under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government to deepen the construction of the 'Design Capital'.

With the theme of "Unleashing Creativity: For a Better Life", the Shanghai International Design Week SIDW focuses on five core areas: thematic exhibitions, award operations, forum activities, designer empowerment, and brand promotion. It brings together eight powerful alliance systems including the SIDW National Commissioner Alliance, SIDW National Pan-Home Industry Secretary General Alliance, SIDW International Expert Review Committee, SIDW Home Decoration Company Alliance, SIDW Commercial Space Company Alliance, SIDW Real Estate Alliance, SIDW Hotel Alliance, and SIDW Star Media Alliance. With a global perspective, it gathers the design industry to explore more possibilities for the organic integration of design and commerce in contemporary contexts, and to create a world-renowned Chinese designer festival.
