Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Marine and Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) is an international maritime and marine industry event that brings together international companies. It will become the most comprehensive international business platform in Malaysia, covering shipbuilding, ship repair, shipping, marine engineering, offshore engineering and technology, dredging equipment, as well as ports and logistics. The event is a special gathering point for the global maritime industry in Malaysia, where the industry remains active and is expected to experience strong growth. MIMEX will gather leading industry participants.

Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Marine and Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) is supported by the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the Malaysian Marine Vessels Association. The exhibition will bring together internationally renowned shipbuilding and shipping companies and their supporting industries, all gathered in Kuala Lumpur to showcase the latest developments in the shipbuilding and shipping industries.

Malaysia is known as a transshipment country, with most products exported to neighboring countries being tax-free. The Malaysian government has developed a strategic plan through (SBSR 2020), aiming for Malaysia to occupy 2% of the global shipbuilding market and 3% of the ship repair market in the Straits of Malacca by 2020. To promote the development of Malaysia's maritime vessel industry, the Malaysian Maritime Authority has established a marine fund worth 3 billion ringgit.

Malaysia is one of the founding members of ASEAN, the Indian Ocean Rim Association, and a member of APEC. More than 80% of Malaysia's maritime transport depends on foreign shipping, making the construction of overseas transportation and ports a top priority in Malaysia's national planning.

Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Marine and Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) combines a large number of international shipbuilding marine and offshore companies, marine and shipbuilding technology providers, and supporting industries for shipbuilding centers to showcase the latest developments in Malaysia's maritime and shipbuilding industries. It also includes the National Marine Industry Forum, a platform for marine industry participants, giving exhibitors the opportunity to meet with buyers from the local and international maritime industry, discuss issues and future challenges.
