Imports of printing equipment and supplies amount to roughly USD 500 million (primarily from Germany and Japan), with exports valued at around USD 150 million. The printing industry accounts for 1.2% of the nation's total industrial output. Since most printing machinery in Korea relies on imports, exports are crucial for the industry. Historically focused on the domestic market, the sector is now shifting due to intense competition and overcapacity. Many Korean printing companies, especially large enterprises, are actively expanding into international markets with organized, efficient, and viable export strategies.
