Profile

The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show (IAS), also known as the China New Energy Vehicle Technology Expo, was formerly the “Shenzhen–Hong Kong–Macao International Auto Expo.” With official approval, it was formally upgraded in 2020 to become the “Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show.”

The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show (IAS) is themed “Tech‑Driven, Future‑Oriented, Market‑Focused,” aiming to catalyze a diversified technological ecosystem, facilitate technology matchmaking and industrial upgrading, anticipate future trends, translate consensus into actionable pathways, and unlock market potential while amplifying the demonstration value of seamless connectivity within the Bay Area.

The event utilized 11 exhibition halls and an outdoor exhibition area, spanning 300,000 square meters. It showcased a diverse array of industry segments—including complete vehicles, supply chains, and cutting-edge technologies—while presenting multifaceted thematic experiences, thereby laying a solid foundation for technological integration and ecological reconstruction. During the show, 810,000 visitors attended, with 39,253 vehicles pre‑ordered, totaling approximately RMB 8.25 billion in projected sales.

Situated at the heart of the Greater Bay Area, the auto show serves as a strategic hub for industrial development. Riding the momentum of mid‑year progress, it takes stock of the present while looking ahead; positioned at the industry’s crossroads, it seeks breakthroughs amid the nascent phase of electrification and the deepening waters of intelligent mobility; and within this collaborative arena, it clarifies pathways toward reversing internal competition and reorienting toward value creation.

As a critical vantage point for observing industry trends, this year’s auto show highlights distinct structural shifts: electrification has firmly established itself, intelligent technologies continue to advance, and connectivity is steadily being realized, all entering a new stage of deep coupling. At this pivotal juncture—transitioning from catching up to leading—the industry has rallied formidable forces toward high‑level scientific and technological self-reliance, fostering close collaboration among vehicle manufacturers, technology firms, and component suppliers. By returning to core values and embracing long-term principles, stakeholders are jointly embarking on a new era of ecological innovation.

The pioneering spirit of the Greater Bay Area facilitates the convergence of technical standards and supply chain capabilities, driving the outward dissemination of regional industrial strengths. “Tech‑Driven, Future‑Oriented, Market‑Focused” embodies the shared vision of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Auto Show and the broader industry, further accelerating the emergence of a next‑generation world‑class automotive hub.

In witnessing, actively participating in, and propelling the remarkable evolution of China’s automotive market, the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show (IAS)invites you to gather in the Greater Bay Area, in Shenzhen.

The 29th Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show and the 2nd China New Energy Vehicle Technology Expo were successfully held from May 31 to June 8, 2025, at the Shenzhen International Convention & Exhibition Center (Bao’an). This edition of the auto show was themed “Tech‑Driven, Future‑Oriented, Market‑Focused,” with its core positioning as the “New A‑Show—Tech Alpha Auto Show.”

Record‑Breaking Scale and Attendance

Spanning 260,000 square meters, the event featured an 80,000‑square‑meter outdoor experience and test‑drive zone, bringing together 112 vehicle manufacturers, showcasing 1,039 models, and hosting 50 new‑car launch events. Over the nine‑day exhibition, approximately 890,000 visitors attended, with 42,823 vehicles pre‑ordered, totaling an estimated RMB 10.07 billion in sales. During the first three days, coinciding with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, attendance reached 450,000, up 27.84% year over year, while sales amounted to RMB 4 billion, a year‑on‑year increase of 8.1%.

Dual Halls in Full Bloom: A Rising Local Presence

BYD Group occupied Hall 1, creating a dedicated brand pavilion that showcased its full lineup—including Yangwang, Fangchengbao, and Denza—and debuted a megawatt‑level flash‑charging ecosystem. The company also announced plans to co‑build 10,000 megawatt‑class charging stations with Xiaoju Charging and 5,000 with Xindiantu. Meanwhile, Harmony Intelligent Mobility made its debut in Hall 2 with an independent pavilion, featuring the four major brands AITO, Zhiji, Avatr, and Luxeed. The luxury‑segment flagship Avatr S800, built on Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving platform ADS 4 and the Tuling Longxing architecture, was officially launched. Xiaomi Auto presented its entire product family for the first time, with the YU7 SUV making its global debut.

New Car Debuts: A Wave of Innovative Advances

SAIC Volkswagen unveiled the range‑extended concept car, while Audi officially introduced the Q6L e‑tron family. Several other models—including Zeekr 9X, Geely’s fourth‑generation Boyue L, Toyota’s bZ4X, and Dongfeng’s Nano 06—made their world or South China premieres. NIO, Lantu, and Firefly also exhibited side by side for the first time.
