The Düsseldorf Anime Convention (DoKomi) is not only Germany’s largest anime event but also one of Europe’s biggest festivals celebrating Japanese culture and anime. DoKomi has further expanded its scale, now attracting over 215,000 attendees.
In Düsseldorf, a truly “magical” scene unfolds: subways are packed with cosplayers, anime characters pop up everywhere on the streets, and tens of thousands of people, lugging suitcases and carrying backpacks, make their way to the same destination—DoKomi.
This year’s DoKomi once again offers a rich array of activities, ranging from gaming and cosplay competitions to karaoke, dance performances, art contests, workshops, and more. Throughout the convention, visitors have ample opportunities to pursue their interests and connect with like-minded individuals.
In addition, numerous high-profile guests attended the event, including musicians, bands, DJs, and many renowned German voice actors known for their work in anime dubbing. Hundreds of exhibitors and artists also set up booths within the convention halls.
If it’s your first time attending, don’t limit yourself to buying merchandise. The real highlights lie in community events, late-night programming, cosplay networking, fan‑created content areas, large-scale meetups, and this year’s notably expanded VTuber offerings.

Gamescom, Düsseldorf, Germany tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. After purchase, the organizer verifies visitor identity. Visitors who do not meet entry requirements may need to submit additional documents. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation or a QR code. On site, present your original passport and confirmation letter to collect a paper badge, or scan the QR code to enter.

Take bus lines U78 or U79 and alight directly at Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstrasse station; the east entrance of the exhibition center is just outside the station.
- Air
From Düsseldorf Airport (DUS): The airport is just 3 kilometers from the exhibition center. The most convenient option is to take Airport Bus Line 896, which provides direct service to the venue.
From Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN): Take a train from the airport to Düsseldorf Central Station, then transfer to local transportation to reach the venue.

From Düsseldorf Central Station (Hauptbahnhof): Transfer to either the U78 or U79 line; the journey takes approximately 15 minutes.
