Australian Agricultural and Agricultural Machinery Exhibition

The 52nd AgQuip Australia International Agricultural Show 2025 was successfully held from August 19 to 21 in Gunnedah, New South Wales. Hosted by ACM Rural Events and sponsored by AgTrader, this event is the Australian agricultural industry’s premier annual platform for technological exchange and business matchmaking.

Exhibition scale and exhibitor numbers remained robust. This edition brought together over 800 exhibitors, showcasing more than 2,500 brands and over 3,000 products across a venue spanning more than 300 hectares. Among the exhibitors, 642 were Australian companies (accounting for 98.32%), with 11 international participants—eight from mainland China, one from Canada, and two from India. Over the three-day event, a total of 44,193 professional visitors attended. Organizers anticipate that a significant portion of attendees will comprise core purchasing decision-makers, including farmers, agricultural contractors, agricultural consultants, and distributors.

Exhibitor lineup exhibits concentration at the top end and an international character. Global agricultural machinery giants such as CNH Industrial, John Deere, and New Holland all made their presence felt. CNH Industrial debuted its highest-horsepower model, the Steiger 785 Quadtrac (785 hp), with Justin Bryant, Product Manager for High-Horsepower Equipment in Australia and New Zealand, noting that AgQuip provided an ideal platform for unveiling this product. New Holland showcased its CR9.90 combine harvester (530 hp, with a 14,500-liter grain tank capacity), while Claas presented the Lexion 8700 combine harvester (646 hp, with an 18,000-liter grain tank) along with the Convio 1230 header (12.34-meter working width). Meanwhile, John Deere, through its distributor Hutcheon and Pearce, exhibited the S7 800 combine harvester. On the component side, Alliance Tyres celebrated surpassing 1 million units sold of its Agri Star II tires, Kerfab unveiled its K-Broom farm sweeper, and Sveaverken introduced its F200/F200 Max automated navigation system.

Chinese Exhibitors Actively Expand into the Australian Market. In 2025, a total of eight mainland Chinese enterprises participated in the exhibition, including manufacturers of agricultural machinery and components, serving as an important gateway for Chinese companies to enter Australia’s agricultural machinery market.Shanxi Huaxin Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd., as a leading representative of Chinese agricultural machinery component suppliers, showcased complementary parts tailored specifically for Australian agricultural equipment. Through on-site matchmaking, participating companies established preliminary connections with Australian distributors and farm operators.

“Agricultural Machinery Showdown” Makes Its Debut as a Central Highlight of the Event. For the first time in 2025, Tractor Games were held, featuring tractors from three major brands—Case New Holland, John Deere, and New Holland—competing across events such as “Bale Bowling,” “Ten-Pin Challenge,” and “Goal-Kicking Contest.” These demonstrations highlighted the machines’ precise handling, responsive power delivery, and versatile adaptability. Guest drivers included Samantha Townsend, editor of The Land, and Jaiden Drought, President of the New Zealand Tractor and Machinery Association. Through live streaming and expert commentary, the event transformed abstract technical specifications into vivid performance showcases, becoming a major audience engagement highlight.

GRDC Alley: A Dedicated Zone for Precision Agriculture Showcasing Cutting-Edge Technologies. The GRDC Alley, established by the Australian Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), brought together 12 exhibitors to showcase precision agriculture technologies, including precision seeding, variable-rate fertilization, soil sensing, and yield monitoring. Concurrently, the University of New England hosted an “Agricultural Career Development Symposium,” moderated by Craig Chapman, General Manager of ACM Events, aimed at informing students and young farmers about career pathways in agriculture, attracting significant participation from emerging professionals.

A Combination of Dynamic Demonstrations and Static Exhibits. This event features numerous large-scale dynamic demonstrations of agricultural machinery, allowing visitors to observe the operational performance of tractors, combine harvesters, seeders, and other equipment in real field conditions. Meanwhile, the static exhibition area showcases components, irrigation systems, agrochemical products, livestock equipment, and more. The New Local to the Plains zone highlights products and services from local manufacturers and community organizations in Gunnedah.
