Review

ALE 2025 was held from March 26 to 28, 2025, at the Kunshan Huqiao International Expo Center. With the theme “AI Intelligence Illuminates, Automotive Lighting Enters a New Intelligent Era,” the exhibition spanned over 40,000 square meters, bringing together more than 500 leading exhibitors from around the globe and attracting procurement delegations from over 100 OEMs, as well as more than 4,000 professional visitors.

AI technology emerged as the central theme throughout the event. During the three concurrent technical forums—the Automotive Lighting Forum, the Intelligent Cabin Light Environment Forum, and the In-Vehicle Display Technology Forum—automotive manufacturers and suppliers, including BYD, Huawei, Zeekr, and Geely, delivered over 100 keynote speeches on topics such as “The Future of Automotive Lighting in the AI Era” and “Emotional Design,” exploring how artificial intelligence is driving the evolution of automotive lighting from mere functional illumination toward advanced perceptual interaction.

Micro LED and high-pixel intelligent headlamps took center stage. AMS Osram showcased the EVIYOS 2.0 projection headlamp, integrating 25,600 independently controllable Micro LEDs; BOE HuaCan Optoelectronics presented a Micro LED ADB matrix headlamp featuring more than 40,000 chips, enabling dynamic control across tens of thousands of pixels. Other exhibitors, such as Nationstar Optoelectronics and Crystal Energy Optoelectronics, also unveiled digitalized headlamp modules.

Cultural fusion and functional innovation yielded remarkable results. Xingyu Shares designed the “Tianyuan Difang” front headlamp for Hongqi, while Hella created the “Feiyan Hushi” headlamp for Geely Galaxy E8, seamlessly blending traditional cultural elements with modern design. Lite-On Technology demonstrated a multi-beam smart headlight solution that enables intelligent zone-based illumination. Jichuang North, Hongli Zhihui, and other companies exhibited innovative human–vehicle interaction products, such as smart tail lamps and ring-shaped daytime running lights.

In addition, this year’s exhibition placed significant emphasis on product reliability and environmental standards, with many exhibitors highlighting AEC-Q102 certification and RoHS compliance, underscoring the industry’s shared commitment to high quality and sustainable development. During the event, several awards were presented, including the “2025 ALE – Outstanding Supplier Award in the Automotive Lighting Industry” and the “Innovation Pioneer Award,” recognizing companies that have made outstanding contributions to technological advancement.
