Shanghai International Exhibition on Automotive Manufacturing Technology, Equipment and MaterialsProfile

The Shanghai International Automobile Manufacturing Technology, Equipment & Materials Exhibition (AMTS) was first held in 2004 and has since become a globally recognized industry flagship event and a premier platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and products in the automotive engineering sector.

As the global automotive manufacturing industry enters a profound transformation phase characterized by the integration of technology, industry, and ecology, driven by electrification, intelligentization, lightweighting, and carbon neutrality goals, the automotive value chain is undergoing rapid restructuring, generating an urgent demand for innovative technologies, sustainable materials, and highly efficient manufacturing solutions.

As a specialized forum for automotive technology and engineering, AMTS covers every stage of vehicle R&D, design, and manufacturing, providing domestic and international professionals involved in vehicle and component design, development, and production with a one-stop exchange platform—the “AMTS Future Automotive Development Pavilion.” This pavilion focuses on forward-looking areas such as complete vehicle R&D, product development, engineering and design, vehicle testing and validation, materials and lightweighting, intelligent driving, automotive electronics, new energy three-electric systems, and concurrent engineering, offering a comprehensive overview of future automotive technologies.

Newly introduced interactive workshops—“Workshop Tech Lab”—and a dedicated showcase area for innovative integrated solutions in next-generation vehicle body manufacturing—the “Digital-Intelligent Body Engineering Innovation Arena”—provide a one-stop presentation of emerging automotive manufacturing technologies and solutions. Meanwhile, A+ Connect business matchmaking facilitates efficient technical exchanges and precise commercial partnerships, fostering a mutually beneficial ecosystem that helps reduce costs and enhance efficiency…

The Exhibition Value of the Shanghai International Automobile Manufacturing Show

  • AMTS is Asia’s largest and most specialized automotive manufacturing technology event. Since its inception in 2004, it has been successfully held for twenty editions and is widely recognized as a global benchmark in the automotive engineering field and a central platform for automotive technological innovation. Co-hosted by the China Society of Automotive Engineers and Reed Exhibitions, the show leverages Shanghai’s strategic position as a leading hub of China’s automotive industry, serving as a vital platform for connecting global automotive supply-chain resources, showcasing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, and driving industrial upgrading.
  • The core value of participation lies in its role as a precision‑driven platform that links resources across the entire automotive manufacturing value chain. The exhibition covers every stage of automotive R&D, design, and manufacturing, offering a one-stop showcase of innovative technologies in areas such as body stamping, welding and joining, painting, complete vehicle assembly, component machining, assembly and testing, vehicle materials and design, development and prototyping, intelligent production‑line logistics, quality control, and testing. At the 20th edition in 2025, more than 770 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions participated, attracting 38,859 professional visitors—a 5.4% year‑on‑year increase. Among the attendees, major global OEMs including SAIC, FAW, BYD, Tesla, NIO, Li Auto, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, along with leading component suppliers such as Bosch, ZF, and CATL, accounted for a significant share, providing participating companies with a strategic gateway to engage directly with key global procurement decision‑makers.
  • The show has established a comprehensive, one‑stop commercial platform spanning the entire automotive manufacturing value chain. Exhibits range from stamping lines and body‑welding robots to painting lines, final‑assembly lines, agile and flexible powertrain automation systems, complete sets of industrial robotics technologies, lightweight materials, and quality‑control and testing equipment—covering all product categories. Concurrent with the 2025 event, more than 20 specialized seminars, on‑site forums, and interactive activities were held, drawing 4,826 automotive engineering experts and scholars who engaged in in-depth discussions on innovation and development in the automotive manufacturing sector. Meanwhile, the exhibition expanded its global footprint, actively tapping into markets in Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand, thereby supporting the Chinese automotive industry’s efforts to penetrate emerging overseas markets.
  • Keeping pace with industry trends toward electrification, intelligence, and lightweighting, the show has become a premier venue for showcasing cutting-edge technologies. At the 2025 edition, the focus was on innovative designs and manufacturing processes for new‑energy vehicles. Two newly launched thematic pavilions—EVTech World 2025 and EVTech Show 2025—were dedicated to presenting design and development tools, simulation and software, styling and prototyping, testing and certification, as well as forward‑looking technological applications tailored to new‑energy vehicle engineers and developers. In addition, the show introduced a dedicated zone for powertrain engineering and chassis technologies, highlighting the latest advancements in next‑generation battery systems and integrated chassis solutions.
  • For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway for expanding both domestic and international markets, connecting with global resources, and demonstrating their technological prowess. Throughout the year, the show hosts A+ Connect supply‑demand matchmaking events, facilitating continuous, precise pairings. The 2025 edition attracted 289 professional buyer delegations spanning whole‑vehicle manufacturing, new‑energy vehicle engineering, and automotive components. Exhibiting companies such as Guangzhou Mingluo, FANUC, Comau, and Inovance Technology highly commended the platform’s value, noting that AMTS provides an invaluable opportunity to engage in in‑depth exchanges and explore collaborative partnerships with peers, ecosystem partners, and customers. Through this platform, exhibitors can access global procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the development of smart and new‑energy vehicles.
