The Chilean Aquaculture and Fisheries Exhibition (AQUASUR) was founded in 2002 and is the most influential aquaculture and fisheries exhibition in South America.Supported by its strategic partner, AQUA NOR—the Norwegian Aquaculture Conference—AQUASUR has become the second-largest aquaculture industry trade show worldwide.

With a record-breaking scale and a highly international lineup, Aquasur has further solidified its pivotal position within the South American industry landscape. The Chilean Aquaculture and Fisheries Exhibition (AQUASUR) attracted a total of 30,959 professional visitors, a year-on-year increase of 37%; 550 exhibiting companies from 34 countries and regions gathered to showcase cutting-edge technologies and comprehensive system solutions for aquaculture across a 20,000-square-meter exhibition space.

According to on-site feedback, the South American aquaculture sector is at a critical juncture of recovery and transformation. AQUASUR highlighted a range of innovative advancements, including underwater health monitoring, data analytics systems, and smart farming equipment. In particular, integrated “robotics + software + hardware” applications are reshaping traditional farming practices, enhancing production efficiency, and elevating environmental management standards.

The Aquasur International Conference held concurrently served as a key platform for knowledge exchange, featuring six thematic forums and bringing together 57 global experts. Discussions centered on critical issues such as sustainable pathways for aquaculture development, the application of digital and automated technologies, marine ecosystem conservation and industry collaboration, as well as global supply chain dynamics and market trends. Experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and research institutions from multiple countries shared insights, fostering technology transfer and policy dialogue from a global perspective.
