Frankfurt Auto Parts Exhibition in Malaysia Profile
The Automechanika Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier automotive parts and aftermarket exhibition, has become one of the most influential trade shows in the ASEAN automotive market. The event fully underscores the robust growth potential of Malaysia’s automotive industry and boasts its largest scale to date.
As a leading professional automotive aftermarket show in the ASEAN region, this edition not only highlights the accelerating trend of upgrading across the automotive value chain but also further reinforces Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and services.
With an exhibition space spanning 12,538 square meters, the event attracted 317 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, drawing 16,523 professional visitors from 58 countries and territories. Buyers and industry representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, and many other nations gathered on-site, underscoring the global market’s sustained interest in Southeast Asia’s automotive sector.
The Automechanika Kuala Lumpur brought together a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers, distributors, repair service providers, e‑commerce platforms, and supply-chain enterprises. Prominent names such as BMW, Bosch, Toyota, Petronas, Valeo, and Shopee were represented at the show, engaging in meaningful exchanges with industry stakeholders.
Compared with traditional auto-parts exhibitions, this year’s Kuala Lumpur show placed particular emphasis on the concept of “future mobility.” Key areas showcased included automotive mobility solutions, components and assemblies, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics and maintenance, body painting, vehicle detailing, lubricants, and fuels.
In parallel with the exhibition, numerous technical forums and training sessions were held. Focusing on topics such as Asian mobility trends, cross-border investment, local innovation, and new energy technologies, the Automechanika Kuala Lumpur featured presentations by 20 industry experts from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and other countries.
This year’s event demonstrates that the ASEAN automotive market is gradually transitioning from conventional manufacturing and after-sales models toward new energy, digitalization, and intelligent services. Meanwhile, Malaysia is leveraging its regional manufacturing base, supportive policies, and opportunities for international collaboration to strengthen its role as a pivotal node within the ASEAN automotive ecosystem.
As new-energy vehicles, smart maintenance, digital services, and regional supply-chain restructuring continue to advance, Southeast Asia’s automotive industry stands poised for a new phase of growth. The Automechanika Kuala Lumpur once again highlights Malaysia’s strategic significance within the ASEAN automotive landscape.
