Bangkok International Motor & Motorcycle Show, ThailandProfile

The Bangkok International Motor Show is Asia’s second-largest auto show and has long been one of the year’s most prominent events for automotive enthusiasts. At any major international motor show, there is always a small group of tech-savvy photographers chasing after attractive women.

Since its inaugural edition, the show has become an ideal platform for automakers, suppliers, and motorcycle manufacturers to showcase their latest technologies and products. Each year, hundreds of exhibitors from around the globe gather in Thailand to present the newest passenger cars, commercial vehicles, concept cars, motorcycles, and related accessories to an audience of 125,000 visitors. In addition, the event attracts extensive media coverage, making it a key barometer for the global automotive and motorcycle industries.

Thailand is ASEAN’s largest automobile producer—boasting an annual output of 2 million vehicles—and a major export hub, playing a pivotal role in the global automotive supply chain. Its annual auto parts exports total US$20 billion, serving a Southeast Asian market of 600 million consumers.

International automakers continue to participate, with brands such as Honda, Toyota, and Fiat regularly exhibiting, fostering tuning culture and technological exchange. Chinese brands are also gaining prominence, with BYD, GAC, and Deepal leveraging hybrid technologies—such as the Tank 300 Hybrid—and localized designs to capture market share.

Juzhan has repeatedly organized participation by select high‑quality enterprises. The Bangkok International Motor Show is a sprawling automotive extravaganza, featuring an impressive 60,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space—comparable to the Frankfurt or Paris Motor Shows—making it truly awe‑inspiring.

At the venue, companies can introduce their latest products to buyers and benchmark prices against industry peers, thereby building robust business networks. The Bangkok International Motor Show brings together cutting‑edge technologies and innovations from manufacturers and distributors worldwide, providing an invaluable platform for industry professionals and creating exceptional opportunities for all stakeholders.

Bangkok International Motor & Motorcycle Show, Thailand tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. The Exhibition Value of the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand

  • The Bangkok International Motor Show is the largest and most influential automotive event in Southeast Asia. Since its inception in 1979, it has been successfully held nearly fifty times and is widely recognized by the industry as a barometer of the ASEAN automotive market and a strategic gateway for global automakers seeking to expand into Southeast Asia. Organized by Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, the show takes place annually at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok. With its distinctive “sales‑driven” positioning, it sets itself apart from other premier auto shows worldwide and serves as a central platform connecting global automakers with Southeast Asian consumers.
  • The core value of participation lies in its unparalleled regional market reach and highly concentrated capacity for converting consumer interest into sales. Beyond being a mere vehicle showcase, the exhibition functions as a direct order‑generating “sales event.” At the 46th edition in 2025, the show attracted 1,601,011 visitors and secured 79,941 vehicle reservations, representing a year‑on‑year increase of 44.8%. The 47th edition in 2026 is expected to feature 45 automotive and motorcycle brands, including 37 car manufacturers and 8 motorcycle brands. Each year, the event draws professional buyers and end‑consumers from around the globe, enabling participating companies to directly access Thailand’s and ASEAN’s key markets while achieving dual objectives: brand visibility and sales conversion.
  • The show has established a one‑stop commercial platform covering the entire automotive value chain, from complete vehicles to components. Exhibits span all categories, including internal‑combustion engine vehicles, battery‑electric vehicles, hybrid cars, motorcycles, electric motorcycles, automotive parts, aftermarket modifications, and connected‑car technologies. In 2025, the show debuted a dedicated 9,000‑square‑meter component zone, showcasing EV and ICE parts sourced from China and providing Thai local businesses with direct B2B opportunities to engage with manufacturers. Additional interactive zones include an outdoor customization area, test‑drive experiences, and a balance‑bike championship, creating a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates display, experience, sales, and ancillary services.
  • Keeping pace with the three major industry trends—electrification, intelligence, and localization—the show has become a premier venue for showcasing innovative products and cutting‑edge technologies. At the 2025 edition, new‑energy vehicle orders accounted for 65% of total bookings, with battery‑electric vehicles making up 50%. BYD surpassed Toyota to claim the top sales spot, securing 9,819 reservations. Chinese brands continued to expand, with 14 new Chinese exhibitors joining in 2025, including ZEEKR, OMODA & JAECOO, CHERY, GEELY, and others. The 2026 show will welcome Tesla, NIO (including its Firefly sub‑brand), Xpeng, Chery, and several other newcomers making their debut. Intelligent technologies emerged as a central highlight, with Great Wall Motors unveiling its Coffee OS 3 system, developed in collaboration with Huawei, supporting Thai‑language voice interaction and bilingual English–Thai command recognition, offering visitors a fully integrated smart cockpit solution encompassing hardware, software, and mapping. During the show, BYD hosted “BYD Technology Day,” presenting advanced innovations such as the Yangwang U8’s emergency flotation capability and the Denza Z9GT’s compass‑style U‑turn maneuver, attracting over 800 daily participants.
  • For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to tap into the ASEAN market, connect with international resources, and demonstrate their innovative strengths. The Thai government continues to promote the development of the electric‑vehicle sector, setting a target under its “30@30” policy to achieve 30% of vehicle production from EVs by 2030. The show annually attracts numerous Chinese brands, with BYD, Great Wall, GAC, Changan, Geely, Xpeng, and others delivering standout performances in 2025. Participating companies can leverage this platform to engage with key procurement networks across Southeast Asia, seizing early opportunities in the region’s ongoing electrification and intelligent‑technology transformation.

Exhibition Review

The 46th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand was successfully held from March 26 to April 6, 2025, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok. Hosted by Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, this year’s event was themed “The Talk of Sensuous Automotive” and has become the annual highlight of the ASEAN automotive industry.

In terms of scale, the show attracted a total of 1,601,011 visitors, roughly on par with the previous edition. The exhibition brought together 54 automotive and motorcycle brands from around the world—41 car brands and 13 motorcycle brands—with 14 additional Chinese exhibitors compared to the prior event. During the show, a total of 79,941 vehicles were reserved, up 44.8% year over year, including 77,379 cars and 2,562 motorcycles. New energy vehicles accounted for 65% of orders, with pure electric vehicles making up 50% of that share.

This year’s show featured several standout highlights, with Chinese brands topping the sales charts for the first time, drawing widespread attention. BYD secured the top spot with 9,819 reservations, surpassing Toyota’s 9,615 and claiming the title of sales champion for the first time. GAC Group (including AION and Hauwei) ranked third with 7,018 units, followed by Deepal Auto with 6,067 and Honda with 5,948. Among motorcycles, Yamaha led with 1,286 units, while Suzuki and Royal Enfield tied for second place with 224 each. The 2025 edition also welcomed new entrants such as ZEEKR, OMODA & JAECOO, CHERY, KINGGEN, JUNEYAO, RIDDARA, and GEELY, marking the debut of the electric motorcycle brand YADEA.

Complementary events added significant value, creating a high‑end platform for industry networking and consumer engagement. For the first time, the show featured a dedicated 9,000‑square‑meter automotive components zone (Forum Hall 4), showcasing EV and internal‑combustion engine parts sourced from China and providing Thai local businesses with B2B matchmaking opportunities over a period exceeding one week. BYD hosted the inaugural stop of its “BYD Tech Day” tour in Thailand, unveiling cutting‑edge technologies such as the Yangwang U8’s emergency flotation capability, the Denza Z9GT’s compass‑style U‑turn maneuver, and the YiSiFang intelligent parking system, attracting more than 800 daily visitors. Great Wall Motors exhibited the Haval H6 PHEV, equipped with the Coffee OS 3 system co‑developed with Huawei, which integrates Petal Maps for 3D lane‑level navigation and supports Thai voice interaction along with mixed English–Thai command recognition. Meanwhile, the outdoor modified‑vehicle display area showcased over 200 of Thailand’s finest custom cars, complemented by a balance‑bike championship and test‑drive zones.

The professional audience was exceptionally strong, driving record‑high conversion rates. The show drew consumers, dealers, and industry experts from Thailand and neighboring countries, with attendance exceeding 1.6 million. Exhibiting companies widely praised the quality of the professional audience, noting clear purchasing intent and impressive on‑site order conversion. In addition, the event offered an array of raffles: car reservations came with a chance to win a THB 100,000 voucher (12 prizes), while motorcycle reservations could earn a THB 10,000 voucher (5 prizes), further boosting consumer enthusiasm.

Outcomes and industry reception were highly positive. Exhibiting companies lauded the platform’s value, emphasizing that it not only enhances brand visibility but also serves as a direct conduit for generating sales orders. According to Ke Yubin, General Manager of BYD Thailand, within four months of commencing production in the country, BYD has achieved mass production of three models and secured the top position across all segments. Attendees agreed that the Bangkok International Motor Show is not only an outstanding venue for brand exposure and business matchmaking but also a pivotal hub for understanding ASEAN automotive trends and exploring pathways toward electrification and intelligent mobility.
