Profile
The Shenzhen Coffee Festival—Shenzhen Coffee & Beverage Exhibition (CAFEEX)—is a specialized trade show dedicated to the coffee and beverage industries. It is designed to create an international platform for showcasing cutting-edge coffee and tea products and cultures, while fostering innovative and efficient connections between exhibitors and buyers.
CAFEEX comprises both the exhibition itself and a series of accompanying events. Visitors can explore a wide array of coffee brands, attend expert‑led forums, participate in cupping sessions, and watch barista competitions as well as coffee bean roasting contests.
Local Shenzhen coffee brands naturally take center stage. Established names such as GEE, BEAN2CUP, Anwen Coffee, Yuehe Coffee, and JOHANDY will be on hand, championing the city’s specialty coffee scene. Meanwhile, E.T.BREWERY will present craft beers, and Tea Pigs will offer classic British‑style premium tea bags, among other offerings.
In recent years, an increasing number of acclaimed coffee brands—proven by consumer demand—have established themselves in Shenzhen. TRUNK COFFEE, Mingqian Coffee, and UNIUNI are bringing diverse coffee cultures to the city and to CAFEEX, where they will share their unique perspectives. Additionally, cafés, roasters, coffee equipment suppliers, coffee academies, and coffee machine manufacturers from across China will gather to deliver a feast for Shenzhen’s coffee enthusiasts. Review
The 2025 CAFEEX Coffee & Beverage Exhibition in Shenzhen was successfully held from August 22 to 24 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian). With an exhibition space of 34,000 square meters, this edition brought together 688 exhibiting brands from 15 countries and regions, attracting 51,571 professional visitors. The event fostered deep connections with over 6,000 coffee retail outlets, cementing its status as the annual highlight of the coffee industry in South China.
The exhibition united the global coffee value chain, showcasing a comprehensive range of products—from coffee beans and pour-over coffees to specialized equipment such as espresso machines and grinders—as well as beverage ingredients like dairy products and syrups. International brands and local players complemented one another, with TRUNK COFFEE, Mingqian Coffee, UNIUNI, and others bringing diverse coffee cultures to Shenzhen. Meanwhile, local specialty coffee brands—including GEE, BEAN2CUP, Anwen Coffee, Yuehe Coffee, and JOHANDY—collectively elevated the profile of Shenzhen’s premium coffee scene.
In parallel with the exhibition, a series of professional events were staged. The ACU Asian Coffee Union China Regional Coffee Brewing Competition—Shenzhen leg—brought together top baristas to compete in brewing artistry. The HARIO V60 Brewing Competition’s Shenzhen preliminary rounds and China finals were held concurrently at Booth 2F16. A Specialty Coffee Forum featured more than ten industry luminaries, who shared the latest insights on key topics such as coffee brewing techniques, origin‑to‑cup practices, roasting philosophies, equipment design, and brand marketing. A specialty coffee cupping session allowed attendees to sample flavors from around the world in one convenient setting. Concurrently, the CHOCEX Shenzhen Chocolate Exhibition showcased premium chocolate brands like Kekehu and BeanBANG, unlocking the flavor synergy of “coffee + chocolate.” Meanwhile, Whiskytimes presented whiskies from various regions, exploring creative pairings between coffee and spirits.
The exhibition’s international reach was significantly enhanced, drawing specialty coffee brands from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries to make their debut. Vietnam’s VCU company, participating for the first time, successfully established connections with multiple Chinese manufacturers, roasters, and retail coffee channels, laying a solid foundation for Gia Lai coffee’s entry into the international market. Diverse coffee cultures were also on display, including Ethiopian heirloom varieties, Panama’s champion estate owners, and traditional Japanese deep-roasted coffees alongside Nordic ultra-light roasts, all presented by Japanese coffee artisans. As the event’s principal sponsor, Zhuhai-based CERA unveiled its portable coffee machine series, which has been honored with Germany’s Red Dot Award and the MUSE International Creative Awards. Other leading brands, such as TIMEMORE, MHW-3BOMBER, HARIO, and minos, offered a full spectrum of products—from moka pots to precision hand-drip brewing tools—catering to coffee enthusiasts at every level.
