Profile
The China International Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE) has become Asia’s largest and one of the world’s top three international specialized livestock exhibitions.Driven by innovation, development, and win-win cooperation, the expo continuously pioneers new approaches and enriches its content across exhibition concepts, services, and programming, keeping it at the forefront of the industry and playing a pivotal role in advancing sector growth and fostering international exchanges.
Under the theme “Showcasing New Business Models, Sharing New Achievements, Boosting New Momentum, and Leading New Development,” the China International Animal Husbandry Expo highlights innovative breakthroughs and emerging trends across the entire livestock value chain, characterized by “a concentrated showcase of cutting-edge technologies, the pervasive integration of green principles, deep vertical and horizontal supply-chain linkages, and increasingly dynamic international engagement.”
Leading enterprises such as Shounong, Zhongmu, Muyuan, Wens, Tongwei, New Hope, and Hefeng are all present, forming an end-to-end ecosystem that spans from breeding and R&D to smart equipment, sustainable farming practices, and advanced processing, thereby demonstrating the core strength propelling high-quality development in China’s livestock sector.
The premium livestock food zone adopts an integrated “exhibition–sales” model, bringing together regional specialties—including black pork, Tongliao beef, and camel‑milk ice cream—thus helping quality livestock products reach consumers nationwide, supporting local brands in expanding their market presence, and establishing a new paradigm of coordinated production and sales.
Through this window provided by the expo, we witness the rapid evolution of the livestock industry while also experiencing an international event marked by inclusivity, shared benefits, and mutually beneficial collaboration. Looking ahead, the China International Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE)will continue to unlock more opportunities for high‑quality growth, contributing to the healthy development of the livestock sector. Review
The 22nd China Animal Husbandry Expo was successfully held from May 19 to 21, 2025, at the Qingdao World Expo City. With the theme “Showcasing New Business Models, Sharing New Achievements, Boosting New Momentum, and Leading New Development,” the expo spanned 180,000 square meters, featured over 8,200 booths, and brought together more than 1,500 enterprises from over 20 countries and regions worldwide. Total attendance reached 282,000, further solidifying its position as the world’s second-largest and Asia’s largest ultra-large-scale specialized livestock exhibition.
Nearly 200 leading companies, including Muyuan, Wens, Charoen Pokphand, and New Hope Liuhe, gathered, covering the entire industrial chain—from breeding and R&D to smart equipment, green farming, and advanced processing. The poultry sector showcased domestic breeding achievements such as “Shengze 901” and “Guangming No. 2,” while the swine sector highlighted cutting-edge technologies like intelligent feeding robots and precision environmental control systems. Meanwhile, the smart equipment zone attracted nearly 500 technology firms, including Nongxin Shuzhi and Henan Wanhua, vividly demonstrating the transformation from “experience-based farming” to “data-driven decision-making.”
The level of international participation was significantly enhanced, with four major international pavilions—representing the United States, France, the Netherlands, and the Nordic countries—presenting advanced concepts such as digital farm management solutions and animal welfare standards. Companies like DSM and Guangdong Yiduoli deepened cross-border collaboration through technological matchmaking, fostering exchanges between Chinese and livestock industries.
A dedicated premium livestock food zone was also established, bringing together regional specialties such as Jiangxi’s Shanxia Hua‑style black pork and Xinjiang’s Wangyuan camel milk. A tasting event titled “Savor Qingdao Beer, Sample Livestock Delicacies” featured more than 20 signature dishes, including Charoen Pokphand’s braised pork belly and Qingdao Kangda’s spicy hand‑torn rabbit, attracting nearly a thousand participants. Concurrently, the Livestock Food Branch of the China Animal Husbandry Association was officially launched, driving the transition of livestock products toward becoming “vectors of quality living.”
In parallel with the expo, nearly one hundred forums were held, including the Fourth National Conference on Digitalization in Animal Husbandry and the Third National Conference on Sustainable Development in Animal Husbandry. During these events, 20 outstanding cases and 80 exemplary cases of nationwide digitalization in the livestock sector for 2024–2025 were unveiled. Furthermore, 31 leading enterprises, including Muyuan and New Hope, jointly initiated the “Low‑Carbon, Low‑Nitrogen, Antibiotic‑Reduced Healthy Pig Farming Initiative,” leveraging the expo as a platform to promote deep integration among industry, academia, research, and application.
