Co-organized by the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, this edition of the show centered on the theme “New Energy, Intelligent Connectivity, and Full-Chain Collaboration,” marking a major annual event for the automotive industry in Southwest China.
In terms of scale, the exhibition spanned a total area of 52,000 square meters, bringing together 773 exhibitors from both domestic and international markets, attracting over 27,000 professional visitors, and expecting attendees from more than 40 countries and regions, as well as 50 specialized buyer delegations—setting a new record for the event’s size. The exhibits covered the entire value chain, including components and assemblies, electronic and intelligent systems, new energy and intelligent connectivity technologies, vehicle customization products, and maintenance and repair equipment. The fair also featured 23 high‑quality concurrent events, offering diversified services such as targeted supply‑demand matchmaking, conferences, forums, and technical training sessions, while drawing numerous industry experts to provide in-depth insights into the development trends of the Southwest Chinese automotive market.
This year’s exhibition boasted numerous highlights, with industrial collaboration between Sichuan and Chongqing, along with the convergence of domestic and international brands, serving as its central attractions. As a key growth hub for China’s automotive industry, the Sichuan–Chongqing region has achieved an industrial chain regional support rate exceeding 80%. Fifteen city and prefecture-level delegations from Sichuan—including Nanchong, Neijiang, Yibin, Ziyang—and a delegation from Chongqing jointly showcased core offerings such as battery solutions, new‑energy components, and critical parts for commercial vehicles. Local industry leaders like Chuannan Shock Absorbers, Fengchuan Power, and Yibin Kaiyi prominently displayed their technological innovations. Yibin, known as the “Capital of China’s Power Battery Industry,” organized 20 leading enterprises to participate, while Kaiyi unveiled its mid‑to‑high‑end hybrid SUV, the Kaiyi Kunlun i‑HD, developed on the all‑new i‑FA platform. Meanwhile, the Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center introduced four cutting‑edge products, including long‑cycle solid‑state batteries and high‑specific‑energy solid‑state batteries. The Nanchong delegation brought together 27 key automotive companies, including Geely Commercial Vehicles and Dongjia New Energy, showcasing new‑energy complete vehicles and essential components.
International brands and innovative technologies also captivated audiences. Honeywell presented its MS0.44/PS0.38 brake pads, featuring proprietary friction‑composite materials and a titanium coating that deliver both a high coefficient of friction and exceptional quietness. Professor Lin Huichun of Tsinghua University emphasized, “China’s automotive industry going global is not an ‘optional choice’ but an ‘essential task,’” as participating experts engaged in in‑depth discussions on building a new ecosystem for the automotive supply chain and advancing international cooperation in new‑energy vehicles.
The professional visitor lineup was robust, with an unprecedented level of international participation. This year’s exhibition is expected to attract overseas visitors from more than 40 countries and regions, with numerous foreign institutions organizing group tours to conduct in‑depth inspections of new‑energy vehicle manufacturing technologies, component production, and supporting infrastructure, while learning advanced after‑sales service techniques. For the first time, CAPAS launched an Overseas Business Inspection Delegation, enabling international buyers to gain deep insights into the technological advancements in new energy and intelligent connectivity within the Southwest region, efficiently match with target enterprises, and fully experience Chengdu’s cultural charm during their visit. Marco Estrada, CEO of Direcciones Hidráulicas “Marco” from Mexico, remarked, “While sourcing traditional products at CAPAS, I paid particular attention to new‑energy‑related offerings. Their exceptional quality and diverse range left me truly delighted.”
Outstanding Exhibition Outcomes and Enthusiastic Industry Response. Exhibiting companies widely reported that the event attracted a high‑caliber professional audience with clear purchasing intent, resulting in highly effective on‑site business matchmaking. Ms. Yao Fang, Independent Aftermarket Sales Manager at Lipair (Zhuhai) Auto Parts Co., Ltd., remarked: “The quality and quantity of visitors to our booth today have both exceeded our expectations. We not only connected with the Southwest‑region distributors we were targeting but also engaged with numerous international buyers.” Attendees agreed that CAPAS is not only an excellent platform for brand exposure and commercial networking but also a pivotal hub for gaining insights into Southwest China’s automotive trends and exploring pathways for transitioning toward new energy and intelligent connected vehicles.
