The Value of Participating in the China Electronics Fair (CEF)

  • China’s oldest and most authoritative professional electronics trade show. First held in 1964 and organized by China National Electronics Import & Export Corporation, the fair enjoys key support from the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is widely regarded as the “barometer” of China’s electronics industry. Held twice annually—in spring and autumn—at major cities nationwide, including Shanghai and Shenzhen—the fair provides comprehensive coverage of the entire electronics industry chain, serving as a strategic platform for showcasing cutting-edge technological capabilities, embracing the domestic substitution trend, and connecting regional and national industrial resources. For enterprises, participation offers a gateway to demonstrate robust technological prowess, integrate into the domestic substitution movement, and access industrial networks across the Yangtze River Delta and beyond.
  • Seven major exhibition zones present a panoramic view of the entire industry chain, highlighting domestic substitution achievements. The fair features seven core zones: High-End Components, Integrated Circuits, Semiconductor Equipment and Core Components, Electronic Manufacturing Equipment, Special Electronics, Test & Measurement, and Smart+ Solutions. From miniature surface-mount resistors and capacitors to automotive-grade sensors, from RF filters to supercapacitors, and from etching tools to advanced packaging and testing solutions, the fair comprehensively showcases domestic innovation across the upstream materials, core components, and downstream applications, precisely addressing dual industry needs: “self-reliance and controllability” and “high-end upgrading.”
  • Access to global buyer networks, fostering an efficient business-matching hub. Drawing on over six decades of industry experience, the fair annually attracts procurement decision-makers from top global brands such as Siemens, ZTE, Panasonic, Samsung, Haier, Midea, BYD, Bosch, and General Electric. Through a “pre-match online + precise offline pairing” model, the fair facilitates deep collaboration between upstream and downstream partners, resulting in numerous letters of intent for cooperation. Exhibitors can efficiently connect with key channel resources and reach high-value buyers with clear purchasing intentions.
  • A four-in-one ecosystem integrating exhibitions, conferences, competitions, and awards, fostering deep integration among industry, academia, research, and application. Concurrent with the fair, the event hosts over 20 high-profile activities, including the Forum on New Advances in Domestic Semiconductor Equipment, the China IC Unicorn Forum, the Automotive Electronics Industry Chain Summit Forum, and the Forum on Independent Innovation in Special Electronic Components. Renowned academicians, industry leaders, and technical experts engage in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as technological breakthroughs, market trends, and supply-chain security. A dedicated “Electronic Smart Manufacturing Factory Demonstration Line” provides a comprehensive showcase of automated operations—from PCB loading to finished product output—offering enterprises an authoritative platform to demonstrate their innovative strength and secure technological leadership.
  • Leveraging Shanghai’s position as a premier industrial hub in the Yangtze River Delta, the fair serves as a central node for innovation-driven development. Shanghai boasts a complete industrial chain, spanning integrated circuit design, manufacturing, packaging, and smart terminal applications. In 2024, the city’s integrated circuit industry exceeded RMB 390 billion, accounting for 25% of the national total. Backed by national-level industrial clusters such as Zhangjiang Science City and Lingang New Area, along with intellectual support from top universities and research institutes, the fair provides enterprises with a unique platform to deeply link with regional innovation resources and integrate into the broader Yangtze River Delta industrial ecosystem.

Review

From November 5 to 7, 2025, the 106th China Electronics Fair was successfully held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. With the theme “Innovation as Foundation, Intelligent Manufacturing Upgrade,” the fair was co-organized with the 2025 Autumn National Special Electronic Components Exhibition and the 2025 China Semiconductor Industry and Applications Expo. Covering an exhibition area of 25,000 square meters, it brought together over 600 exhibitors from around the world and attracted more than 30,000 professional visitors, resulting in the signing of over 230 letters of intent for cooperation.

A strong lineup of exhibitors showcased cutting-edge innovations across the entire industry chain. The High-End Components Pavilion featured leading companies such as Zhenhua Micro, Sichuan Yongxing, Guizhou Aerospace Electrical Appliances, AVIC Optoelectronics, Beijing Yuanliu Hongyuan, Chengdu Hongming Electronics, and Fujian Huoju Electronics, collectively presenting advanced technologies in power supplies, resistors and capacitors, sensors, relays, and more. The Integrated Circuit Pavilion brought together chip design firms including HuaDa Semiconductor, Institute 214 of China North Industries Group Corporation, Shaanxi Semiconductor Leading Technology Center, and JieLi Technology, comprehensively highlighting the latest breakthroughs in domestic chip self-reliance. Meanwhile, the Semiconductor Equipment and Core Components Pavilion gathered over 50 leading enterprises—including Shengmei Semiconductor, Huahai Qingke, Jiangsu Weidao, and Northern Huachuang—showcasing innovative achievements of domestically produced equipment in critical manufacturing processes.

Smart manufacturing demonstration lines captivated attendees, while a series of concurrent forums offered rich content. Exhibiting companies jointly constructed a complete “Electronic Smart Manufacturing Factory (Live Demonstration)” line, providing real-time assembly demonstrations that vividly illustrated the fully automated, digitalized, and intelligent workflow—from PCB loading to finished product output—making it a major highlight of the event. During the fair, more than 20 specialized events were held, including the 2025 Forum on New Advances in Domestic Semiconductor Equipment and Core Components, the 8th China IC Unicorn Forum, the 21st China (Yangtze River Delta) Automotive Electronics Industry Chain Summit Forum, and the Forum on Independent Innovation in Special Electronic Components. Concurrently, the finals of the 2025 “Kuaike Cup” National Electronic Manufacturing Welding Skills Competition took place.

A gathering of professional buyers yielded significant business outcomes. The fair drew leading enterprises from the information electronics sector, including Siemens, ZTE, Fangtai, Hitachi, Aerospace Electronics, and Zhongda Electronics, as well as over 20 industry buyer delegations such as the Cixi Digital Economy Association and the Jiangsu Semiconductor Industry Association. Key procurement representatives from major defense groups were specially invited, covering critical demand areas like aerospace, aviation, shipbuilding, weaponry, and electronic equipment. Over 230 letters of intent for cooperation were signed on-site, spanning core fields such as integrated circuits and high-end components, with the total value of intended transactions up 15% compared to the previous edition. The next edition of the fair is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 12, 2026, once again at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
