Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Participating in the China Toy Expo
- The Shanghai Toy Expo (CTE) is Asia’s largest and one of the world’s leading professional exhibitions dedicated to the toy and trendy toy industries. Organized by the China Toy & Juvenile Products Association, it has been held for 23 editions and is closely linked with CLE China Licensing Expo, CKE China Baby & Child Products Expo, and CPE China Early Childhood Education Expo, collectively forming the most influential industrial ecosystem in the global toy and infant products sector. It is widely regarded as a barometer for the global toy industry. Held annually at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, the expo serves as a strategic gateway for international brands entering the Chinese market and for Chinese brands expanding globally.
- The core value of participation lies in its unparalleled international platform and its unique ability to connect exhibitors directly with global buyers. In 2025, the expo brought together 2,629 exhibitors from 41 countries and regions and 30 major industrial clusters, with a dramatic surge in international participation—CLE licensing saw a 65% year-over-year increase in overseas exhibitors, CKE baby products grew by 36%, and CTE toys steadily rose by 14%, while 11 international delegations set new records. Top brands from North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, and emerging markets in Southeast Asia used the expo as a launchpad for new products, providing Chinese enterprises with a strategic window to engage directly with global procurement decision-makers.
- The expo offers a one-stop commercial platform covering the entire toy and infant product value chain. Spanning 230,000 square meters, the exhibition features 5,426 brands and over 2,600 globally licensed IPs, with exhibits ranging from trendy toys and infant products to IP licensing and educational supplies, extending further into raw materials, packaging equipment, and design services. High-quality enterprises from Guangdong’s Dongguan, Shenzhen, Chenghai, Zhejiang’s Yunhe, Ningbo, and more than 30 other major industrial clusters gathered, with export-oriented exhibitors increasing by 50% year over year, vividly illustrating the strong momentum behind China’s transition from “Made in China” to “China Brand.”
- The expo keeps pace with three major industry trends—“IP crossover, smart applications, and green initiatives”—and establishes itself as a showcase for innovative products and cutting-edge concepts. AI-powered toys equipped with emotional computing and large language models have become highlights, while systematic solutions such as smart child seats, strollers, and cribs have drawn significant attention. Leading brands like Disney, Marvel, LEGO, Pop Mart, 52TOYS, KAYOU, and BRIO showcased their latest offerings, and Hape collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art to debut its “Art × Environment × Education” series. Concurrently, the expo hosted 276 specialized events, including the ACTI Asia Toy Industry Conference, the Global Go-To-Market Trends Conference, and the China Licensing Industry Trends Conference, providing the industry with forward-looking insights and practical guidance.
- For Chinese enterprises, the expo represents a strategic gateway to expand into global markets, connect with international resources, and achieve brand globalization. The China Toy Association’s CSI-certified supplier system helps overseas buyers efficiently match with high-quality Chinese companies, while overseas media networks support Chinese brands in transitioning from “product export” to “brand export.” In 2025, the expo attracted 1,200 export-oriented exhibitors, many of whom have shifted from contract manufacturing to independent design and brand building, fully demonstrating the “soft power” and global competitiveness of China’s toy industry. Exhibiting companies can leverage this platform to access global procurement networks and seize opportunities in the transformative journey toward intelligent, green, and IP-driven toy production.
