Since its inception in 2005, the Guangzhou International Tourism Industry Exhibition (CITIE; hereinafter referred to as the Guangdong Travel Expo) hasoriginally known as the Guangdong International Tourism Exhibition, it is one of the key ancillary events of the Guangdong International Tourism Culture Festival.Rooted firmly in China’s most important source market for outbound tourists, the Expo brings together premium global destinations, tourism service providers, and suppliers, focusing on an integrated B2B showcase and B2C sales platform. It serves as a premier venue for information exchange, promotional display, and product procurement within the domestic and international tourism industries.

In 2011, with approval from the China National Tourism Administration, the Guangdong Travel Expo was officially renamed the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo, elevating its status to one of China’s national-level tourism trade fairs. That same year, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Government resolved to hold the event annually, aiming to establish it as an internationally recognized tourism exhibition brand. Through years of dedicated brand development, the Guangdong Travel Expo has emerged as China’s most globally oriented and commercially successful comprehensive international tourism exhibition.

By facilitating face-to-face discussions with international organizations and professional buyers, the Expo has promoted forward-looking initiatives such as inbound tourism, the “cultural tourism + multiple sectors” model, and global commodity markets. These efforts have successfully connected numerous high-quality overseas destinations with international buyers, sending a powerful signal to the world about the robust growth potential of the Greater Bay Area’s cultural and tourism sector.

Mainland China visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name ID verification; overseas visitors must use passport verification; Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan visitors must use their travel permit. On site, verify entry with your ID card or by scanning the e-ticket QR code.
