Exhibition Review
The 45th edition of the GITEX Global Consumer Electronics and Communications Exhibition (GITEX GLOBAL 2025) was successfully held from October 13 to 17, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Harbour. Centered around the theme “AI-Native Society,” the event brought together over 6,800 exhibiting companies from 180 countries, including 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and more than 40 unicorn enterprises, marking a record-breaking scale.
Artificial intelligence emerged as the undisputed centerpiece of the show. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and G42 Group CEO Xiao Peng engaged in an in-depth dialogue on the “AI-Native Society,” while tech giants such as Microsoft, Google Cloud, Oracle, and IBM showcased enterprise‑grade AI solutions, sovereign cloud services, and quantum computing offerings. This edition transcended mere product displays to focus on strategic implementation, resulting in multiple multi‑billion‑dollar memoranda of understanding. The Abu Dhabi Government’s Empowerment Department announced 55 strategic partnerships spanning AI‑driven public services, smart cities, and mobility ecosystems. AWS and e& jointly launched the “AI Nation” initiative, pledging to train 30,000 AI and cloud‑computing professionals in the UAE.
China’s presence at the exhibition continued to grow robustly, with a record 372 participating companies. China’s three major telecom operators were all represented, while XPeng Huitian unveiled its “land‑based aircraft carrier”—a flying car—making its first overseas public flight and securing orders for 600 units. iFLYTEK showcased AI‑powered smart office devices, Wondershare introduced its AIGC video‑creation platform ToMovieeAI, and companies such as JZCloud and Dameng Data actively expanded into the Middle Eastern market.
Cutting‑edge technological breakthroughs took center stage. Smart contact lenses can estimate blood glucose levels via biomarkers; brain‑computer interface implants enable neural signal decoding; and AI‑driven gene‑editing technologies are reprogramming DNA to enhance disease resistance. In the robotics sector, Mangobot presented humanoid robots and military “wolf‑pack” robotic dogs, while Micropolis unveiled autonomous police vehicles designed for public safety. Concurrently, the Expand North Star startup zone attracted thousands of founders from over 100 countries, with South Korea’s AIM Intelligence clinching the Supernova Challenge championship. This edition marks GITEX’s transformation from a technology showcase into an execution engine driving policy, investment, and real‑world implementation.
