Exhibitor Value of the Hong Kong Spring Lighting Fair
- The Hong Kong Lighting Fair is one of Asia’s largest and most influential events in the lighting industry, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Since its inception in 1999, it has been successfully held for sixteen editions, and together with the concurrent Smart Lighting Expo, it forms a core platform for innovation and development in the global lighting sector. In 2025, the two exhibitions will be themed “Smart Lighting for a Green Future,” bringing together approximately 1,000 exhibitors and attracting 15,000 professional buyers from 108 countries and regions. Notably, international buyers from emerging markets such as Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland, Argentina, and Colombia have all shown growth, underscoring the fair’s strong international appeal.
- The core value of exhibiting lies in its unparalleled international platform and its unique ability to connect exhibitors with a global network of buyers. The fair’s professional buyer base includes lighting product importers, distributors, engineering firms, designers, and major retail purchasers. Brazil’s Azizi Company has been sourcing through the fair since 2012 and, at this edition, has identified three suppliers for street‑lighting projects, with orders totaling approximately US$1.2 million. Meanwhile, UK brand Limi, participating for the first time, established connections with over 200 buyers from Hong Kong, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, projecting sales of between US$40 million and US$50 million.
- The fair provides a one‑stop commercial platform that spans the entire lighting value chain. Exhibits cover all categories, including smart lighting technologies, human‑centric lighting, sustainable lighting solutions, residential lighting, commercial lighting, decorative lighting, professional lighting, and lighting accessories. The flagship “Hall of Renowned Lamps” showcases around 180 top brands, highlighting cutting‑edge lighting products and innovations. This year also introduces, for the first time, a “Green Innovation” zone, where 15 exhibitors present eco‑friendly, intelligent lighting solutions. The Smart Lighting Expo features pavilions representing key lighting industrial hubs in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, including the Shenzhen delegation, the Zhongshan delegation, and the Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association, which presents an “Intelligent Ecosystem and IoT Supply Chain Showcase.”
- The fair aligns with three major industry trends—AI empowerment, green and low‑carbon development, and human‑centric lighting—establishing a high‑tech hub that deeply integrates industry, academia, research, and application. AI‑ and IoT‑driven smart lighting products are taking center stage. Shenzhen Jinliuming Optoelectronics showcases its Caimeta AIoT smart lighting solution, featuring lights that can adapt to their surroundings like a chameleon. Concurrently, the “Asia Lighting Conference” explores ESG initiatives and sustainable lighting strategies, with UK firm William Sugg & Co presenting case studies on heritage revitalization. The “Smart Lighting Solutions Forum” brings together industry leaders—including Xiaomi’s IoT Platform Division and the Zhaga Consortium—to discuss human‑centric lighting and smart‑scene applications.
- For Chinese enterprises, the fair serves as a strategic gateway to expand into global markets, connect with international resources, and showcase innovative capabilities. As an international trade hub, Hong Kong paves the way for domestic brands to enter overseas markets. Hong Kong‑based Siki, specializing in functional LED lighting, has successfully expanded into Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia through annual participation, with projected sales of US$500,000 to US$1 million this year. The fair adopts an “Exhibition+” hybrid online‑offline model, with the “BusinessMatch” smart matchmaking platform remaining accessible after the event to support year‑round business connections.

Exhibition Review
The 16th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair and the 2nd Smart Lighting Expo successfully concluded from April 6 to 9, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, this edition was themed “Smart Lighting for a Green Future” and stood as a premier annual event for the global lighting industry.
In terms of scale, the two exhibitions brought together approximately 1,000 exhibitors and attracted 15,000 professional buyers from 108 countries and regions for on-site visits and business negotiations. Buyers from Asian markets such as Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand, as well as from European countries including the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Poland, and from Latin American nations like Argentina and Colombia, all showed growth, underscoring the fair’s strong international appeal. An on-site survey indicated that 51.8% of respondents anticipate an increase in overall sales over the next one to two years, reflecting an optimistic market outlook.
This year’s show featured a wealth of highlights, with AI- and IoT-driven smart lighting products taking center stage. UK brand Limi made its debut, showcasing an AI-powered lighting control system and establishing connections with more than 200 buyers from Hong Kong, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, with projected sales ranging from USD 40 million to 50 million. Meanwhile, Hong Kong-based Siki, specializing in functional LED lighting solutions, leveraged the fair to expand into European, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian markets, engaging with around 30 potential clients and projecting sales of USD 500,000 to 1 million. The Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association, together with 14 member companies, created a “Smart Ecosystem and IoT Supply Chain Showcase,” highlighting cutting-edge lighting solutions from Zhaga Alliance, Tongyi Fang, Edimeng, Shunzhou Intelligence, Bangwei, Zaozuo Sensing, Bireite, Darko, Qiansimeng, Nuowenbo, Yi’erda, Migan Technology, Liangxun, and Ledifuchu, among others.
Specialized exhibition zones and concurrent events added vibrancy, creating a high‑end platform for industry exchange. For the first time, a “Green Innovation” zone was introduced, featuring 15 exhibitors presenting eco‑friendly lighting and smart home products. For instance, Zhongshan’s Aisen Si Sanitary Ware showcased an LED mirror integrating light‑control technology, anti‑fog functionality, Bluetooth audio, and wireless charging—key smart home features. Major lighting industry hubs from the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area also took center stage, including the Shenzhen delegation and the SZSA Smart Lighting Pavilion presented by the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Development Promotion Association, as well as the Zhongshan delegation, which included several “National Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative Little Giant” enterprises unveiling innovative products. During the event, the “Asia Lighting Conference” convened to discuss ESG initiatives and sustainable lighting solutions, with UK firm William Sugg & Co sharing case studies on the adaptive reuse of historic landmarks such as Central’s Do Temple Street and the UK Parliament Building. Additionally, the “Smart Lighting Solutions Forum” brought together industry leaders—including Xiaomi’s IoT Platform Division, the Zhaga Alliance, and the International WELL Building Institute—to explore human‑centric lighting and intelligent scenario applications.
The professional audience was robust, with a notably high‑quality buyer base. Brazilian buyer Azizi identified three suppliers of smart controllers for street‑lighting projects through the fair, securing orders valued at approximately USD 1.2 million. Hungarian company Seemis Kft utilized the “Business Matching” smart pairing platform to connect with three mainland Chinese suppliers, procuring lighting products worth USD 150,000 to 200,000. Professional buyers from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the Americas flocked to the venue, creating a lively atmosphere of active negotiations.
The 17th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair is scheduled to take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in April 2026. The fair will continue to serve as an efficient platform for global communication and collaboration within the lighting industry.
