展会简介
The Exhibition Value of the Shenzhen International Digital Energy Expo
- The Shenzhen International Digital Energy Expo (IDEE) is the largest and most influential digital energy industry event in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its inception in 2023, it has successfully held three editions and is widely recognized by the industry as a global benchmark for digital energy technology development and a central hub for energy digitalization transformation. The expo is guided by the National Energy Administration and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, supported by the China Electricity Council and the China Energy Research Association, and co-organized by Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Energy Group Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Capital Operation Group Co., Ltd. Leveraging Shenzhen’s industrial advantages as a global pioneer city in digital energy, it has become a strategic platform for connecting global energy industry chain resources, showcasing cutting-edge technological achievements, and leading industry development trends.
- The core value of exhibiting lies in its full-industry-chain coverage and its channel advantage for precisely linking global buyer networks. Focusing on the entire “source–grid–load–storage–digital carbon” value chain, the expo features seven thematic exhibition zones—Green Energy, Future Grid, Smart Load, New‑type Energy Storage, AI‑Empowered Solutions, Clean Low‑Carbon Technologies, and International Enterprises—covering everything from upstream materials and core components to system integration and real‑world applications, thus forming a complete industrial ecosystem closed loop. In 2025, the expo will bring together over 2,000 companies from more than 50 countries and regions, showcase over 300 cutting-edge technologies, and attract more than 30,000 domestic and international professional visitors, with international buyers spanning key markets such as Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America.
- The expo has established an international platform that connects global markets, bringing together industry leaders and innovative forces. Global energy giants—including Huawei, BYD, China Southern Power Grid, CGN, ZTE, ABB, Siemens Energy, Hitachi Energy, EVE Energy, and Xinwangda—have participated year after year. During the 2025 edition, Huawei unveiled its all‑scenario grid‑building technology along with global implementation cases; BYD made the world premiere of its next‑generation energy storage product “Haohan” (with a single‑unit capacity of 14.5 MWh and a volumetric energy density increase of 51.4%); and CGN, in collaboration with Kesheng Technology, shared innovative practices in the world’s largest single‑tower 350 MW concentrating solar power project. The expo also featured a dedicated electric heavy‑truck zone, where BYD, Kaiwo, Dongfeng, XCMG, and five other companies collectively showcased nearly ten electric heavy trucks, vividly demonstrating Shenzhen’s “Supercharging City” 2.0 pace.
- The expo keeps pace with three major industry trends—AI empowerment, new‑type energy storage, and electricity market liberalization—building a high ground for deep integration among industry, academia, research, and application. The AI‑Empowered Zone has become the center of attention, with Huawei, Xinwangda, and other companies demonstrating the profound application of AI algorithms in energy forecasting and operational optimization. Meanwhile, the New‑type Energy Storage Zone highlights diverse technological pathways, including all‑vanadium redox flow batteries, sodium‑ion batteries, solid‑state lithium batteries, and flywheel energy storage. Concurrently, the expo released the “2025 Shenzhen Digital Energy White Paper,” systematically outlining an implementation roadmap for building a global digital energy pioneer city, focusing on six key directions under the “source–grid–load–storage–digital carbon” framework, and establishing three signature urban initiatives: the world’s first Supercharging City 2.0, a unified grid for charging, storing, and discharging electricity, and a cloud‑based virtual power plant management platform.
- Through a dual‑track model of “indoor exhibitions + off‑site activities,” the expo creates an immersive platform for technological experience and scenario validation. Inside the pavilions, realistic sandbox models fully present urban‑scale energy internet cases such as the Longgang Smart Energy Town; outside, real‑world settings like the Dapeng Bay Zero‑Carbon Terminal and the Longgang Hydrogen Energy Community are linked, enabling cutting‑edge technologies to undergo large‑scale validation and achieving seamless integration between exhibition areas and urban districts. Simultaneously, the main forum and seven parallel forums gather leading global experts and corporate executives to engage in in-depth discussions on core topics such as building a digital energy industry ecosystem, innovating the energy internet, advancing new‑type energy storage technologies, and empowering smart energy through AI.
- For Chinese enterprises, this expo serves as a strategic gateway for expanding into global markets, connecting with international resources, and showcasing their innovative strengths. Through the International Enterprises Zone and the International Business Matching Area, the expo facilitates precise supply‑demand alignment, attracting over 30,000 professional visitors, including overseas delegates from more than 50 countries and regions. Delegations from Arab nations, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, and other countries have attended in groups, sharing their respective regional experiences in energy transition and investment opportunities. Participating companies can leverage this platform to connect with core global procurement networks, seizing early opportunities in the intelligent, green, and global transformation of the digital energy industry.
