Russia Yekaterinburg Industrial Exhibition

The 15th INNOPROM—Russia’s International Industrial Innovation Exhibition—was successfully held from July 7 to 10 at the Yekaterinburg Expo Center. Co-hosted by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Government of Sverdlovsk Oblast, the event was themed “Technological Leadership: Industrial Breakthroughs” and stands as the premier annual platform for technological exchange and business matchmaking in the industrial sector across Russia and the CIS.

Exhibition Space and Participant Scale Reach New Heights. This edition spanned approximately 50,000 square meters, with a first-time expansion into the second-floor halls of the Yekaterinburg Expo Center. The exhibition brought together 11,000 organizations from 60 countries, attracting over 50,000 registered visitors, including international participants from the CIS, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. A total of 390 booths were set up, of which 140 were occupied by foreign exhibitors, while delegations from 33 Russian regions also took part. Saudi Arabia served as the Guest of Honor, while Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other nations established national pavilions.

Exhibitor Profile: Leading Players and Global Reach. On the Russian side, industry leaders such as Uralmash Plant, Rostec, Rosatom, NAMI (National Automotive Engineering Institute), Galaktika, Zyfra, and Abagy were all present. The Belarusian national delegation occupied a 280-square-meter pavilion, showcasing innovative solutions from Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomel Agricultural Machinery Plant, BKM Holding, and others. Internationally, renowned companies like Siemens, Mitsubishi Electric, and ABB participated. China was represented through the Ninth China–Russia Expo, with more than 300 enterprises exhibiting their products.

Showcase Highlights: Technological Breakthroughs and Import Substitution. Key domestic innovations on display included an anti-drone laser system, a reusable launch vehicle, and domestically developed six-axis industrial robots and collaborative robotic arms—designed to enhance precision and speed in welding, painting, assembly, and other operations. NAMI unveiled an autonomous driving safety system currently undergoing testing on the Lada Vesta, alongside a prototype of the Atom electric vehicle slated for mass production. A high-speed rail train model was also presented, with plans to deliver two test units in summer 2027 for certification. For the first time, domestically produced ABS and ESC systems were showcased. In the industrial sector, advances such as metal powder compaction technology capable of manufacturing high-precision parts within minutes, progress in constructing Russia’s first sodium polyacrylate plant, and innovations in silicone-based polymer catalyst production were highlighted. The medical industry featured laminar-flow sterilization equipment, anesthesia and respiratory devices, and portable newborn hearing‑screening tools. Meanwhile, the tourism equipment segment exhibited Russia’s first snow‑compacting machine and ten cable‑car cabins.

Parallel Events and High-Level Government Participation. Over 100 business events were organized throughout the exhibition, covering 14 thematic areas, including international cooperation, innovation, digital manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, cybersecurity, finance, human resource development, and new materials. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin attended strategic meetings and toured the exhibits, commending the microchip jointly developed by the Ural “Parts” Design Bureau and the Central Ural Development Group. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov attended the closing ceremony and announced Indonesia as the Guest of Honor for 2026. Dozens of significant industrial agreements were signed during the event, with Rostov Oblast securing the highest value of contracts—23 deals totaling over 92.2 billion rubles—while Sverdlovsk Oblast recorded commitments exceeding 65 billion rubles.

Chinese Exhibitors Demonstrated Strong Presence. The Ninth China–Russia Expo was held concurrently with INNOPROM, featuring more than 300 Chinese enterprises showcasing their products. Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui attended the event and noted that Sverdlovsk Oblast, with its abundant natural resources, well-developed industrial base, and robust research infrastructure, offers ample opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. Acting Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Pavel Paskalev, engaged in discussions with representatives of Chinese companies regarding localization of production and collaboration on equipment supply.

Attendees agreed that INNOPROM, as the most influential industrial trade show in Russia and the CIS, has become a strategic platform for companies to showcase cutting-edge technologies, connect with customers, identify emerging trends, and expand into Russian and Eurasian markets. The next edition of INNOPROM is scheduled to take place from July 6 to 9, 2026, at the Yekaterinburg Expo Center, with Indonesia serving as the Guest of Honor.
