Japan International Food Exhibition Profile
The Japan International Food Exhibition (JFEX) is a specialized trade show dedicated to the full spectrum of food and beverage products from around the world. As a premier platform for importing and sourcing Japanese food products, JFEX is co-organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan serving as a supporting partner, and enjoys robust backing from the Japanese government.
Due to limited arable land and high production costs, Japan maintains a large and mature market for food raw materials and processed foods, while remaining a net importer of staple grains. The vast majority of imported food, beverages, and raw materials enter Japan through various trade channels, primarily originating from Asian countries and regions, as well as the United States and European nations.
To establish itself as Asia’s leading trade show for food, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks, the Japan International Food Exhibition (JFEX) brings together over 40,000 professional buyers from retailers, supermarkets, department stores, importers, agents, hotel and restaurant procurement teams, and food manufacturers worldwide. This event has become Japan’s annual flagship food extravaganza, firmly cementing its position as Asia’s preeminent food trade fair.
At the Japan International Food Exhibition (JFEX), attendees can engage in direct negotiations and procurements with local Japanese companies. Product offerings span agricultural commodities, snacks, beverages, meat, seafood, and more, while also providing access to newly launched Japanese food products. Additionally, exhibitors facilitate connections with intermediaries offering logistics solutions and export‑assistance services.
