Profile
The Shandong Sugar, Wine & Food Fair (also known as the Jinan Sugar, Wine & Food Fair) was founded in 2006. Leveraging Shandong Province’s strong market advantages and robust industrial base, it has evolved into a major branded exhibition jointly nurtured by government agencies, industry associations, trade show organizers, and exhibiting companies. The organizing committee has steadily refined its processes in areas such as exhibitor outreach, visitor management, ancillary services, and personalized support, earning a well‑established reputation for “three abundances”: a large number of participating enterprises, a substantial audience, and extensive benefits for attendees. It is widely regarded as a leading professional brand event with significant influence in Northern China.
The fair is structured around three core components: exhibitions, conferences and forums, and special events. Serving as a premier platform for companies to showcase their brands, seize business opportunities, and expand their markets, it is an indispensable venue for professional buyers seeking to negotiate deals, explore new prospects, and stock up ahead of key holidays. At the last edition, the total exhibition space reached 45,000 square meters, hosting 1,237 exhibitors from countries including France, the United States, Italy, Germany, Australia, Russia, Hungary, and others. Total transaction value exceeded RMB 1.6 billion, while preliminary order commitments surpassed RMB 2.4 billion.
Over the years, the Shandong Sugar, Wine & Food Fair—Jinan Sugar, Wine & Food Fair—has continuously broadened its scope, expanded its scale, attracted an increasing number of domestic and international participants, and strengthened its overall impact, earning widespread recognition and acclaim from exhibiting firms, distribution platforms, consumer groups, and industry professionals alike.
Past editions have featured delegation groups from 50 international and domestic cities, including France, Italy, Malaysia, Hungary, Brazil, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Shanxi Province, Shaanxi Province, Zunyi City, Bozhou City, Nanchang City, Harbin City, Shenyang City, Qianjiang City, Luoyang City, and all 16 prefecture-level cities of Shandong Province. More than ten of these cities have participated with official delegations for three consecutive years or longer, playing an active role in fostering economic and trade exchanges among regions and providing strong impetus to the development of the industry. The Exhibition Value of the Jinan Sugar and Wine Fair (Shandong International Sugar and Wine & Food Trade Fair)
- China’s oldest and largest specialized sugar, wine, and food event in Northern China: Since its inception in 2006, the China (Shandong) International Sugar and Wine & Food Trade Fair—commonly known as the Jinan Sugar and Wine Fair—has successfully held nearly twenty editions. Co-organized by authoritative bodies including the Jinan Municipal People’s Government and the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, it is a major branded initiative receiving key support and cultivation from the Shandong provincial government and has earned official certification from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). Leveraging Shandong’s advantages as a leading economic and populous province, the Jinan Sugar and Wine Fair has become a pivotal event for the domestic alcoholic beverages and food industries, as well as a trailblazer among sugar and wine exhibitions in Northern China.
- A one-stop procurement platform covering the entire industry chain: The fair encompasses the full spectrum of product categories, including traditional liquors—such as sauce‑aroma, light‑aroma, and strong‑aroma types—craft beers, wines, international spirits, snack and convenience foods, beverages and dairy products, baked goods, grain, oil, and seasoning products, ready‑to‑eat meals and supply‑chain solutions, agricultural and sideline products, liquor packaging, production and packaging equipment, and more. From established liquor producers to emerging beverage brands, and from regionally distinctive foods to internationally imported items, exhibitors can seamlessly integrate product showcases, brand exposure, and business negotiations within a single venue.
- Precise matchmaking with core buyers and distribution channels across Northern China and nationwide: The most recent edition featured an exhibition space of nearly 30,000 square meters, attracting close to 600 exhibiting companies and drawing approximately 80,000 professional visitors. As the capital of Shandong Province and a major economic, political, and cultural hub, Jinan enjoys a strategic location that connects south to north and east to west, serving the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Central Plains economic regions, with extensive market reach. Exhibitors can directly engage with some of the most influential distributors and wholesalers in Shandong and Northern China, facilitating efficient business connections and market expansion.
- Unique value for Chinese enterprises: a strategic engine for deepening presence in the Northern market: With Shandong ranking third nationally in GDP and a resident population exceeding 100 million, its consumer market is both vast and highly inclusive. Operating under a model of “government guidance plus market‑driven operations,” the fair has consistently supported government‑led delegations from dozens of key production areas, including Zunyi in Guizhou, Yibin in Sichuan, and Huai’an in Jiangsu. Renowned brands such as Moutai, Wuliangye, Jiugui Liquor, and Xijiu have participated repeatedly. Through this platform, participating companies can swiftly establish a foothold in the Northern market, tap into government resources, and enhance their brand visibility.
- A cutting‑edge forum for technological innovation and industry trends: Concurrent with the fair, numerous specialized forums and events are held, including the China New Beverage Conference, the Jinan Supply‑Demand Matchmaking Meeting for Regional Specialty Products, the Geographical Indication Industry Development Exchange, and the Food Industry Chain Supply‑Demand Forum. These platforms facilitate in-depth discussions on topics such as food industry innovation, healthy‑food development, and digital empowerment, providing exhibitors with strategic insights into emerging industry trends.
- Jinan’s locational and industrial advantages: As the capital of Shandong Province and a core city within the provincial metropolitan economic circle, Jinan boasts an exceptional geographic position and a well‑developed transportation network, endowing it with significant regional influence and far‑reaching radiating effects. In the alcoholic beverages and food sectors, there is widespread consensus that “whoever controls Jinan controls Shandong; whoever controls Shandong controls the nation.” With 18 years of dedicated industry experience, the Jinan Sugar and Wine Fair has emerged as the largest and most influential specialized trade show for sugar, wine, and food products in Northern China.

The 19th China (Shandong) International Sugar, Wine & Food Fair 2025 was successfully held from November 21 to 23 at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center in Jinan. Co-hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and Shandong International Convention & Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., the fair was themed “Integration, Co-creation, Symbiosis—Empowering a New Ecosystem for the Food Industry,” making it the most significant annual trade event for the sugar, wine, and food sectors in Northern China.
In terms of exhibition scale, this edition covered nearly 30,000 square meters, bringing together close to 600 leading exhibitors from across China specializing in alcoholic beverages, food products, drinks, gift boxes, and more. The exhibits spanned over ten related industries, including alcoholic beverages, food and beverages, dairy products, gift packaging, seasonings, and packaging machinery, with nearly 10,000 distinct product offerings. Over the three-day event, approximately 80,000 professional visitors from all regions of the country attended to explore business opportunities, representing distributors, retailers, buyers, and other omnichannel procurement stakeholders.
Exhibitor profiles exhibited hallmarks of concentration and clustering. Exhibit highlights abounded, with gift-box products particularly well-received. Held during the peak season for New Year’s shopping, the fair saw strong demand for specialty gift sets featuring dairy products, nuts, pastries, meats, health supplements, and assorted grains. Professional buyers engaged in continuous negotiations with exhibitors, resulting in numerous contracts and underscoring the efficiency and convenience of one-stop procurement. Reflecting the trend toward consumption upgrading, health foods, functional beverages, and regionally distinctive agricultural products emerged as key highlights of the show.
A rich array of concurrent events. Throughout the fair, multiple thematic activities were organized, injecting strong momentum into supply–demand matching and industry collaboration. The Jinan Food Industry Chain Supply–Demand Matchmaking Conference, under the theme “Focusing on Jinan, Collaborative Development,” gathered nearly a hundred representatives from local governments, industry associations, and enterprises. Through policy briefings, corporate roadshows, and targeted supply–demand matchmaking, the event advanced coordinated development of regional industrial chains. Meanwhile, the 2025 Geographical Indication Industry Development Exchange Meeting brought together renowned local specialties such as Chongqing Fengjie Navel Oranges, Inner Mongolia Sunite Lamb, and Guangdong Xinhui Chenpi, while precisely inviting mainstream e‑commerce platforms like Meituan, , and Hema to facilitate efficient supply–demand connections. Lastly, the Balin Left Banner High-Quality Agricultural and Livestock Products Tasting and Ordering Event vividly showcased the appeal of the “Khitan Pastoralism” regional public brand through product displays, culinary tastings, and ethnic song-and-dance performances, deepening Shandong–Mongolia cooperation and supporting rural revitalization efforts.
Strong responses from exhibitors and the industry. At the fair, Dr. Guo Kunliang became one of the most popular figures with his philosophy of “not selling alcohol, but empowering the liquor industry through innovation.” His technical publications garnered significant attention from enterprise representatives, vividly demonstrating that innovation is the core driver of industrial progress. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as industrial policies, product innovation, technological applications, and digital empowerment, creating a lively atmosphere and yielding fruitful collaborative outcomes. Exhibiting companies generally reported that the fair attracted high-quality professional buyers with clear purchasing intentions.
