The Exhibition Value of the Riyadh International Tech Expo
- LEAP is the world’s largest technology event in terms of attendance. Since its inception in 2022, it has rapidly grown into the third-largest global exhibition for information technology and innovation, earning acclaim as the “Digital Davos” and a leading indicator of technological advancement in the Middle East. Hosted by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the fourth edition of LEAP in 2025 will be held under the theme “Towards a New World,” bringing together over 1,800 cutting-edge tech companies and attracting more than 210,000 professional visitors. Technology enthusiasts from over 80 countries and regions will gather to witness the signing of numerous initiatives, agreements, and investment projects.
- The core value of participation lies in LEAP’s unique platform that precisely connects exhibitors with the trillion‑dollar digital transformation market of Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. Saudi Arabia is advancing its Vision 2030, aiming to mobilize over SAR 12 trillion (approximately USD 3.2 trillion) in domestic investments by 2030. Ongoing strategic projects—such as the development of special economic zones and the upgrading of digital infrastructure—are generating substantial demand. During the 2025 event, Saudi Arabia announced new AI‑related investments totaling USD 14.9 billion, underscoring its pivotal role in shaping the global digital future. Notably, 57% of the professional attendees are buyers from more than 80 countries, providing participating companies with a strategic gateway to engage directly with key decision‑makers across the region.
- LEAP offers a one‑stop commercial platform spanning the entire communications and technology value chain. Exhibits cover a full spectrum of categories, including artificial intelligence, 5G networks, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, smart cities, robotics, intelligent manufacturing, AR/VR, and smart vehicles. Specialized pavilions such as the Service Robotics Pavilion, the Special‑Purpose Robotics Pavilion, and the Future Living Pavilion further enhance the experience. In 2025, the expo will host over 1,500 emerging tech startups and feature 500 international speakers, with strategic sponsors including industry leaders like Microsoft, Cisco, KPMG, and Ericsson.
- LEAP aligns closely with three major industry trends—artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and smart cities—establishing a robust hub for deep integration among academia, industry, research, and end‑users. Huawei showcased its PanCloud large‑model three‑tier architecture and Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5, while signing a smart city cooperation agreement with the King Abdullah Financial District. Lenovo announced the establishment of its Middle East and Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh, along with a new manufacturing base. Tencent Cloud revealed plans to build the first data center in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia, committing over USD 150 million to infrastructure and resource development. China Mobile International presented its end‑to‑end digital‑intelligence services and released the “Blue Paper on Digital Transformation of Chinese Enterprises Operating in Saudi Arabia.”
- For Chinese enterprises, LEAP serves as a strategic gateway to tap into the Middle Eastern market, connect with global resources, and showcase their innovative capabilities. In 2025, more than 60 Chinese companies will participate, including industry giants such as Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba, China Mobile International, DJI, SenseTime, and Xiaomi. UBTECH demonstrated humanoid robot solutions tailored for industrial settings, promoting AI‑driven education in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other Middle Eastern markets.
