The Exhibition Value of Labelexpo Asia
- Labelexpo Asia, the flagship event of the Labelexpo Global Series in Asia, has evolved since its relocation to Shanghai in 2003 into the largest and most influential trade show for label and packaging printing in the Asia-Pacific region. It is widely recognized by industry professionals as a leading indicator of trends in the Asian label sector and a central hub for global technology exchange in the field. Organized by Tarsus Group, the exhibition is held biennially at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Leveraging Shanghai’s strategic position as a major center for China’s label printing industry, it has become a key platform for connecting global supply-chain resources, showcasing cutting-edge technological advancements, and shaping industry development trends.
- The core value of exhibiting lies in its unparalleled international platform and highly concentrated pool of professional buyers. In 2025, the exhibition will span 40,000 square meters, bringing together over 450 exhibitors from around the world and attracting 30,560 professional visitors from 114 countries and regions—a 14% increase compared to the previous edition. Among these attendees, decision-makers from end-user industries such as food and beverage, personal care and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, e‑commerce, and logistics constitute a significant share, with more than 92% actively involved in corporate purchasing decisions, providing exhibitors with a strategic gateway to engage directly with global key procurement leaders.
- The exhibition offers a one-stop commercial platform covering the entire label value chain. Exhibits range from digital printing equipment and hybrid presses to flexographic systems, intelligent post-press solutions, RFID-enabled smart label technologies, anti-counterfeiting and traceability systems, eco-friendly inks, and adhesive materials—encompassing the full spectrum of label production. Two highlight programs, “Smart Label Journey” and “Sustainable Digital Soft-Pack Factory,” further underscore the event’s focus: the former delves into the latest innovations and applications of RFID smart labels, while the latter presents an end-to-end digital production process—from printing and laminating to bag-making and forming.
- Keeping pace with the three major industry trends—digitalization, intelligence, and sustainability—the exhibition has established a robust ecosystem fostering deep collaboration among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users. Saikang introduced its subscription-based printing machine solution for the first time in the Asia-Pacific market, enabling small and medium-sized printers to upgrade their capacity flexibly without substantial upfront capital investment. Weigang Technology adopted a dual-product-line strategy combining traditional and digital technologies, seamlessly integrating high-speed digital equipment with proven, efficient flexographic processes. HP Indigo 6K+ and Indigo 200K made their Asia-Pacific debuts at the show, while Tongyin Inkjet Technologies showcased its Label Smart and Label Ultra series, along with the portable digital printing platform Falcon. Concurrent events included masterclasses at the Label Academy, forums on cosmetic label packaging, and the 2025 Label Forum, totaling more than 20 specialized sessions addressing critical topics such as adhesive label materials, digital printing technologies, and RFID encoding.
- The exhibition also launched the Global Connect Hub—an overseas buyer matchmaking zone—effectively facilitating international business connections. A dedicated buyer-matching area was set up to provide international purchasers with a VIP business hub, efficiently expanding opportunities for global partnerships. In addition, the event implemented a series of sustainable initiatives, including the installation of separate recycling bins, the reuse of exhibition carpeting (totaling 19,558 square meters diverted from landfill), and the adoption of LED screens in place of traditional signage.
- The second China Label Industry Awards were held concurrently, honoring outstanding achievements across the sector. The awards program featured categories such as Industry Contribution Award, Annual Printing Enterprise Award, Industry Innovation Award, Sustainability Award, and Annual New Media Influence Award. Innovative breakthroughs—including Yu Shui’s water‑peelable coating and Avery Dennison’s rCrush Barley FSC® label stock—received recognition, significantly advancing both technological innovation and sustainable practices within the industry.
- For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to expand into global markets, connect with international resources, and showcase their innovative capabilities. With the Asian market accounting for over 45% of the global label market share, China stands as the largest domestic market for label materials in Asia. Exhibitors can leverage this platform to access key global procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the digital, intelligent, and green transformation of the label industry.
