The Value of Participating in the Malaysia International Food & Beverage Show (MIFB)

  • Malaysia’s Largest and Most Influential B2B Trade Platform for the Food and Beverage Industry: Founded in 2001 and organized by Constellar Holdings Pte Ltd, the Malaysia International Food & Beverage Show (MIFB) is Malaysia’s premier trade fair for food and beverages, accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). Over more than two decades, MIFB has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s most influential events in the food sector, widely recognized as a leading indicator of trends in the ASEAN food and beverage industry and a key gateway for global food companies seeking to enter the Malaysian and broader Southeast Asian markets.
  • A One-Stop Showcase Covering the Entire Industry Chain: The exhibition encompasses the full spectrum of the food and beverage value chain, including agricultural products, food ingredients, health and wellness foods, halal foods, specialty foods, beverages, tea, coffee, wine and spirits, confectionery and bakery items, frozen foods, seafood, organic products, as well as food processing machinery, packaging equipment, cold-chain logistics, and advanced food-processing technologies. With dedicated zones such as the Coffee Zone, Wine & Spirits Zone, Halal Foods Zone, Traditional Malaysian Cuisine Zone, and Health & Organic Foods Zone, exhibitors can seamlessly connect with buyers across all stages of the supply chain—from product display and brand exposure to business negotiations.
  • Precise Access to Key Buyers and Decision-Makers Across ASEAN and Globally: In 2025, the show will attract over 500 exhibiting companies from more than 50 countries and regions, drawing over 12,000 professional visitors. In 2024, 225 Chinese food companies participated, setting a new record for Chinese participation in the past 23 years. The visitor base includes importers, distributors, retailers, catering and hospitality buyers, e-commerce platform buyers, and food-processing enterprises—covering the entire procurement ecosystem. Exhibitors thus gain direct access to some of the most influential purchasing groups in ASEAN and worldwide.
  • Unique Value for Chinese Enterprises: A Strategic Engine for Expanding into ASEAN Markets: With a population of approximately 30 million, high levels of Chinese-language proficiency, favorable tariff policies, and mature logistics and payment systems, Malaysia ranks among China’s top ten trading partners. As an international hub for halal food certification, Malaysia serves as a critical stepping stone for Chinese food companies aiming to tap into the global market of 1.8 billion Muslim consumers. MIFB provides Chinese food firms with a central platform to enter the Malaysian and ASEAN markets, engage with international clients, and showcase their own brands. The event also features targeted matchmaking sessions, including international buyer–seller meetings and one-on-one business consultations.
  • A Vanguard for Technological Innovation and Industry Trends: The 2025 edition of the show is themed “Future-Ready Foods: Evolving Service Trends,” highlighting three core pillars—technology, sustainability, and scalability. AI-driven food production systems, sustainable packaging, halal certification, and advanced cold-chain solutions are among the standout topics. Concurrently, the Knowledge Hub hosts in-depth discussions on smart foods, sustainable sourcing, and halal export strategies. The Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) and the inaugural Malaysia Coffee Expo (MCE) are also held during the event, underscoring the growing convergence of coffee culture and food technology.
  • In-Depth Connections Through High-Profile Forums and Industry Resources: Alongside the main exhibition, the show hosts key initiatives such as international buyer–seller matchmaking sessions, insightful seminars and demonstrations, food industry awards, and workshops on halal certification. The MyFoodTech zone focuses on transformative technologies in food processing, packaging, and logistics, while the Gastronomic Sensory Hub showcases the fusion of culinary art and innovation. These platforms enable exhibitors to gain valuable insights into ASEAN market trends, access policy resources, and receive guidance on obtaining halal certification.
  • Kuala Lumpur’s Strategic Location and Industrial Advantages: Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the exhibition benefits from its prime location at the crossroads of Southeast Asia and as a major commercial hub. As a core member of ASEAN and a global center for halal food, Malaysia’s robust infrastructure and multicultural business environment make MIFB an ideal strategic platform for connecting exhibitors with the region’s 670-million-strong consumer market.

Exhibition Review

The Malaysia International Food & Beverage Fair 2025 (MIFB 2025) was successfully held from July 30 to August 1 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Hosted by Constellar Holdings Pte Ltd, the event was themed “Future-Ready F&B: Serving the Evolution of Trends” and stood as the most significant annual trade show for the food and beverage industry in ASEAN.

Exhibition Space and Exhibitor Scale Remain Strong. This edition brought together over 500 exhibiting companies from more than 50 countries and regions, occupying a total exhibition area of 28,000 square meters. Exhibitors spanned the entire value chain, including food and beverage manufacturers, food machinery suppliers, packaging solution providers, coffee and tea brands, and alcoholic beverage producers. Companies from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, and other nations participated either through national pavilions or individual booths.

Visitor Numbers and International Reach Hit New Highs. The fair attracted more than 12,000 professional trade visitors from ASEAN member states and numerous countries worldwide. Dato’ Chan Fong Lin, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Primary Industries of Malaysia, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the critical roles of innovation, sustainability, and agility in responding to evolving global food market dynamics.

Exhibitor Portfolio Demonstrates Internationalization and Leadership. On the international front, prominent Malaysian coffee and hospitality chains such as Berjaya Starbucks Coffee, Dutch Lady, FrieslandCampina Professional, Boncafe, 103 Coffee, and Dankoff were all present. Chinese exhibitors actively participated via platforms like , which established the only on-site “China Food Machinery Zone” at a prime location along the main entrance corridor. Six premium platform members showcased their offerings in an integrated, centralized format, drawing over 200 visitors on the first day alone and becoming one of the most highly regarded booths at the event.

The Inaugural Malaysia Café Expo (MCE) Emerged as the Fair’s Highlight. In a strategic collaboration with the Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association (MSCA), MIFB 2025 launched the Malaysia Café Expo for the first time, spotlighting the burgeoning café culture—from specialty coffee to artisanal food products and service design. Concurrently, the semifinals and finals of the 10th Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) were held, featuring four internationally recognized categories: barista skills, latte art, brewing techniques, and cupping. Past champions include Irvine Quek, the 2018 World Latte Art Champion, and Regine Wai, the 2018 World Brewing Runner-Up; winners will represent Malaysia in international competitions.

Wine, Spirits & Beer Showcase Makes Its Debut. Co-curated with Crafted, this zone hosted immersive masterclasses such as “Cheers to Cheese,” “Whisky Through Time,” and “Hidden Gems of Portugal,” blending education with experiential tasting—a pioneering initiative marking MIFB’s first foray into innovative exhibition formats.

MyFoodTech Zone Focuses on Food Technology. This section showcased transformative technologies across food processing, packaging, and logistics, offering end-to-end solutions ranging from production line automation to cold-chain management. Meanwhile, the Gastronomic Sensory Hub, in partnership with the Malaysia Professional Chefs Association (Malaysia PCA), featured live masterclasses led by Chef Ikhwan and the Malaysian national culinary team, seamlessly integrating culinary artistry with cutting-edge technological innovations.

Parallel Conferences and Forums Gather Industry Insights. The MIFB Knowledge Hub convened discussions around three core pillars—intelligence, sustainability, and scalability—covering前沿 topics such as AI-driven food systems, cold-chain logistics, halal export readiness, and sustainable procurement. A dedicated business track provided strategic guidance to food and beverage brands on IPO preparation, market entry, and leveraging Malaysia’s halal economy for expansion. Additionally, halal certification workshops offered hands-on support to both local and international exhibitors seeking compliance.

As Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s most influential specialized food and beverage trade show, MIFB has firmly established itself as a strategic platform for companies to showcase products, connect with customers, gain insights into emerging trends, and expand their reach across ASEAN and globally. The next edition of MIFB is scheduled to take place from July 15 to 17, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
