Malaysia International Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX)Profile
The Malaysia International Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) is a premier international maritime and offshore industry event that brings together global companies. It serves as Malaysia's most comprehensive international business platform, covering all aspects of shipbuilding, ship repair, shipping, maritime engineering, offshore engineering & technology, dredging equipment, as well as ports and logistics. The event acts as a key networking hub for the global maritime community in Malaysia, where the regional industry remains highly active and is poised for strong growth. MIMEX will gather leading industry players.
MIMEX is strongly supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia and the Malaysian Shipowners' Association (MASA). The exhibition brings together internationally renowned shipbuilding and shipping companies along with their supporting industries to Kuala Lumpur, showcasing the latest developments in shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime transport.
Recognized as a major transshipment hub, Malaysia offers tax exemptions on most products exported to neighboring countries. Through the Strategic Blueprint for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SBSR 2020), the Malaysian government has set strategic targets to capture 2% of the global shipbuilding market and 3% of the ship repair market in the Strait of Malacca by 2020. To further boost the development of Malaysia's maritime and shipbuilding sector, the Malaysian maritime authorities have established a RM 3 billion maritime fund.
As a founding member of ASEAN, and a member of IORA and APEC, Malaysia relies on foreign shipping lines for over 80% of its maritime transport. Consequently, developing deep-sea shipping and port infrastructure has become a top priority in the nation's strategic planning.
The Malaysia International Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) integrates a wide array of international shipbuilding, offshore, and marine companies, along with technology providers and supporting industries from shipbuilding hubs, to showcase the latest advancements in Malaysia's maritime and shipbuilding sectors. The event also features a National Maritime Industry Forum, providing a platform for industry stakeholders. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet buyers from both local and international maritime sectors to discuss current issues and future challenges.
Malaysia International Maritime Exhibition (MIMEX) tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. After purchase, the organizer verifies visitor identity. Visitors who do not meet entry requirements may need to submit additional documents. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation or a QR code. On site, present your original passport and confirmation letter to collect a paper badge, or scan the QR code to enter.
