Pyongyang Spring International Commodity Exhibition

The Pyongyang Spring International Commodity Exhibition is currently the largest and most commercially successful international exhibition in North Korea. Established in 1998, it was held annually until 2005, when it began to be staged twice a year—spring and autumn. The event is a major festive occasion for the North Korean public, attracting over 100,000 visitors each time.

North Korea operates a planned economy, with enterprises typically named “corporations,” all of which are state-owned. Each year, numerous corporations attend the exhibition to procure goods and engage in business negotiations. Exhibition areas include building materials and furniture, motorcycles, electric vehicles, tricycles, light industrial products and household items, machinery, electronics and electrical appliances, as well as food and healthcare products.

The Pyongyang Spring International Commodity Exhibition has drawn more than 100 companies from 20 countries, including China, Russia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Cuba, Mongolia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, and others.

Beyond being the largest international exhibition in North Korea, it also serves as the sole gateway for foreign products seeking access to the North Korean market. Chinese enterprises can leverage participation in this exhibition to showcase their offerings to the North Korean public and identify potential local partners.

Pyongyang Spring International Commodity Exhibition tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. After purchase, the organizer verifies visitor identity. Visitors who do not meet entry requirements may need to submit additional documents. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation or a QR code. On site, present your original passport and confirmation letter to collect a paper badge, or scan the QR code to enter.
