The Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition (OVC EXPO) has witnessed and propelled the leapfrog development of the optoelectronic information industry. With a commitment to continuous innovation and an open mindset, OVC EXPO is illuminating the vast future of the optoelectronic world.

When the inaugural OVC EXPO was held in 2002, the industrial scale target for Optics Valley was merely 100 billion RMB. Today, Hubei's optoelectronic information industry has surpassed the trillion RMB mark, accounting for half of China's total. Optics Valley has metamorphosed from a once "forgotten corner outside Wuhan's map" into a 518-square-kilometer sci-tech innovation city, building the world's most complete optoelectronic information industry chain with over 16,000 related enterprises.

Born with an international DNA, over 60% of exhibitors at the first edition were foreign enterprises. Over the years, global giants such as Alcatel, Siemens, IBM, TRUMPF (Germany), and Fujikura (Japan) have frequently participated. The expo has facilitated investment localization for international companies while enabling Optics Valley enterprises to "go global." Companies like YOFC, FiberHome, and HGTECH have successfully established global operations.

As an industry bellwether, each edition of OVC EXPO closely follows global frontiers: from 3G, 4G, and 5G to 6G, and from VR/AR to AI humanoid robots and low-altitude drones, continuously guiding forward-looking industrial layouts. Showcased technologies include the world's first 8-inch silicon photonics thin-film lithium niobate wafer, the world's largest optical fiber preform, and China's highest-power industrial laser, highlighting the expo's core philosophy of "Innovation as the Soul."
