The Exhibition Value of the Shenzhen International Smart Factory Expo
- The Shenzhen International Smart Factory and Automation Technology Expo (S-FACTORY EXPO) is Asia’s premier specialized event dedicated to smart factory solutions in the electronics manufacturing sector. Held concurrently with NEPCON Asia at the same venue, it is widely recognized within the industry as a leading indicator of smart factory technologies in South China and a pivotal platform for connecting the automation supply chain. Co-hosted by the Electronic Information Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Reed Exhibitions, the expo is rooted in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, serving as a gateway to the Asian market and a strategic hub linking intelligent manufacturing technologies with end‑use industries such as electronics, automotive, and semiconductors.
- The core value of participation lies in its dual attributes: a highly targeted platform that connects the entire electronics manufacturing value chain and an exceptionally concentrated pool of professional buyers. Focusing on key application areas—including consumer electronics, automotive electronics, communications electronics, semiconductor packaging and testing, and new energy—the expo showcases cutting-edge innovations and technical solutions for manufacturers. The 2026 edition is expected to span 60,000 square meters, host 800 exhibiting companies, and attract over 68,000 professional visitors, including more than 3,000 international buyers. These attendees represent critical decision‑making groups such as original equipment manufacturers, electronic manufacturing service providers, printed circuit board producers, integrated circuit makers, and touch‑screen and flat‑panel display manufacturers, providing exhibitors with a strategic opportunity to engage directly with global procurement decision‑makers.
- The expo has established a one‑stop commercial platform covering the entire smart factory value chain. Exhibits are organized into six core segments: machine vision (sensors, smart cameras, image processing systems), IoT and big data (industrial internet, cloud computing, artificial intelligence), industrial software (MES, ERP, and other factory‑integrated management solutions), industrial robots (collaborative robots, SCARA, six‑axis robots), system integration (automated production lines, smart manufacturing solutions), and intelligent warehousing and logistics (AGVs/AMRs, automated high‑bay warehouses, smart conveying systems). From core components to complete plant‑level solutions, and from traditional automation to AI‑enabled systems, the expo fosters a fully integrated industrial ecosystem.
- The expo aligns with three major industry trends—AI‑driven innovation, embodied intelligence, and flexible manufacturing—establishing a robust technological frontier through deep collaboration among industry, academia, research institutions, and end users. At the 2025 edition, robotics pioneers such as FANUC, Elite, Feixi, Jiebot, and Xinbu took to the stage together for the first time, highlighting innovative applications of AI in electronics manufacturing and exploring how AI can catalyze transformative growth. Concurrently, the “AI‑Driven Smart Factories and Automation Innovation Forum” convened, featuring in-depth discussions on topics such as the evolution and deployment of autonomous robots, the reshaping of smart manufacturing capabilities through adaptive robotics, and optimal solutions for flexible production lines powered by embodied intelligence. The expo also featured specialized zones, including a disassembly area for embodied‑intelligence robots and core components, an AI‑smart glasses teardown zone, a demonstration area for automated packaging of finished electronics, and themed exhibition spaces dedicated to flexible manufacturing and intelligent conveying. Through a three‑part format—disassembly, real‑world demonstrations, and summit sessions—the expo helps companies accurately identify emerging technology trends. Parallel forums addressed pressing issues such as the transition of industrial intelligences from “data‑driven response” to “autonomous decision‑making,” innovative applications of flexible sensing technologies in human‑robot collaboration, and end‑to‑end digitalization practices in smart warehousing for the 3C sector.
- The expo operates in synergy with seven other thematic exhibitions, including NEPCON Asia and ITWA Asia, creating cross‑industry collaborative effects. The 2026 edition is projected to bring together 3,600 high‑quality exhibitors, spanning manufacturers of SMT equipment, semiconductor packaging and testing tools, PCB production machinery, and film‑tape processing equipment, thereby addressing the urgent needs of smart factory upgrades and production line transformations. The concurrent eight‑exhibition lineup is expected to attract 3,500 domestic and international exhibitors and over 160,000 professional visitors, offering a vital window into global advanced manufacturing innovation trends.
- For Chinese enterprises, this expo serves as a strategic gateway to expand into the South China and broader Asian markets, connect with international resources, and showcase their innovative strengths. Rooted in the Greater Bay Area, the expo precisely matches buyers from the electronics, automotive, AI, semiconductor, and display sectors, efficiently linking upstream and downstream resources and closing the industrial supply‑demand loop. By coordinating with leading industry associations across Asia and Eastern Europe, and offering tailored services such as business networking and factory visits, the expo facilitates overseas client engagements. Participating companies can leverage this platform to access global core procurement networks, seizing early opportunities in the AI‑driven, flexible, and globally oriented transformation of the smart manufacturing industry.
