The Exhibition Value of the Shandong Jinan Livestock Expo
- A Benchmark Event: The Largest and Most Influential Provincial Livestock Show in China: Founded in 1985 and organized by the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry Association with the support of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the Shandong Livestock Expo has been successfully held for 40 consecutive editions. Over four decades, it has evolved from a regional event into the largest, most prestigious, and far-reaching provincial-level professional livestock exhibition in China. Widely recognized within the industry as a “showcase” for the national livestock sector, a vital bridge for industry exchange and trade, and a key “barometer” driving technological innovation and connecting production with market channels.
- A One-Stop Platform Covering the Entire Industry Chain: The expo brings together products spanning all segments of the livestock value chain, including superior breeds of livestock and poultry, feed and feed additives, animal health and veterinary medicines, livestock machinery and equipment, farming facilities, smart pasture solutions, high-quality livestock products (meat, milk, eggs, and processed goods), and cold-chain logistics. At its 40th edition, the event showcased thousands of cutting-edge and best-selling innovations—ranging from large-scale machinery and farming equipment to refined raw materials and feed formulations—while highlighting both digital technologies and practical, on-the-ground solutions, fully meeting one-stop procurement needs.
- Precise Connections with National Key Buyers and Distribution Channels: The 40th edition attracted nearly 600 exhibiting companies and drew approximately 60,000 industry professionals—including distributors, agents, and corporate executives—from 36 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China. More than a hundred media outlets provided extensive coverage. Concurrently, the expo hosted an award ceremony recognizing outstanding products, selecting 191 gold awards in the food category, 72 gold awards in the input category, and 18 gold awards in the machinery category from among 345 submissions. Many exhibitors reported that transaction rates exceeded expectations, leading to new partnerships with buyers and agents, with overall results highly favorable; some even secured advance bookings for the next edition before the event concluded.
- Unique Strategic Value for Chinese Enterprises: A Catalyst for Seizing Leadership in the Livestock Sector: Shandong Province is a major livestock-producing region, consistently ranking at the forefront nationwide in numerous key indicators. In 2024, Linyi City achieved a total output of 1.68 million tons of meat, eggs, and milk, with the slaughter and meat-processing industries generating over RMB 90.6 billion in economic value, firmly securing its position as the province’s top performer. Binzhou City sent a delegation of 45 leading livestock enterprises, collectively winning 17 gold awards. Other cities, including Jining, Yantai, Liaocheng, and Heze, also organized core enterprises to present their offerings. Beyond serving as a platform for companies to showcase capabilities and connect with customers, the expo leverages innovative services such as a dual “online + offline” model, product and best-seller promotions, and precision supply–demand matchmaking sessions, providing year-round business-matching opportunities.
- A Vanguard for Technological Innovation and Industry Trends: With the theme “Empowering New-Quality Productivity in the Livestock Sector,” the 40th edition highlighted groundbreaking technologies, achievements, equipment, models, and business formats across areas such as novel livestock breeds, advanced farming facilities and machinery, premium livestock products, feed and veterinary medicines, and digital and intelligent innovations. Smart pastures powered by 5G, intelligent processing workshops, and end-to-end traceability systems were prominently featured. Concurrent specialized events, including the “Pig Industry New-Quality Productivity Forum” and the “Layer Chicken Industry Summit,” addressed critical pain points in farm management and technology, offering in-depth analyses of industry policies and sharing cutting-edge advancements.
- Deep Integration of High-End Forums and Industry Resources: During the expo, the Shandong Livestock High-Quality Development Conference was convened, officially opened by Liu Jungang, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, with remarks delivered by Lu Bo, Director of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine. Cao Jisheng, President of the Shandong Animal Husbandry Association and Chairman of Yisheng Shares, attended to present awards to enterprises honored with the “2025 Shandong Provincial Livestock Science and Technology Award.” The expo also arranged site visits for international buyers and professional farming delegations, facilitating precise supply–demand matching and direct resource connections. Additionally, for the first time, the event launched a special initiative titled “Youth Power,” engaging in dialogue with 150 promising young entrepreneurs in the livestock sector, setting a new benchmark for industry succession.
