THAIFEX – The World Food Expo, Bangkok, ThailandProfile
THAIFEX–Anuga Asia, the Bangkok International Food & Beverage Exhibition in Thailand, is a premier event for the global food and beverage industry and the largest, most comprehensive trade show for food and beverage products in Southeast Asia. Officials from the Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce stated that, in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse, they will leverage the exhibition platform to boost Thailand’s food and beverage exports.
The new brand THAIFEX–Anuga Asia underscores the exhibition’s adherence to global standards by further strengthening its close ties with Anuga, the world’s largest foodservice trade fair. This reinforces THAIFEX’s distinctive identity as Anuga Asia.
According to the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), this year’s event will feature a total exhibition space of 130,000 square meters. As the host country, Thailand not only welcomes participation from leading multinational corporations but also provides an invaluable opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises to expand into international markets. Each year, professionals from across the global trade community converge in Bangkok to share insights, explore emerging trends, showcase cutting-edge products, and identify the most promising business opportunities.
Thailand pursues a free-trade policy, with foreign trade playing a pivotal role in its national economy. Foreign trade continues to grow at a robust pace, and the share of total trade value in GDP—known as the degree of trade dependence—has been steadily increasing year after year. With the gradual completion and commissioning of fruit logistics hubs in Yantai, China, and other locations, bilateral trade in fruits and vegetables, characterized by strong complementarity between the two countries, stands to gain significantly. Moreover, fertilizers and agrochemicals imported from China account for only about 21% of Thailand’s total import value; from the perspective of long-term national strategy and food security, China should further promote and increase its export share of these essential inputs to Thailand.
The attendance at THAIFEX–Anuga Asia has grown increasingly international over the years, reflecting the exhibition’s rising prestige and expanding appeal throughout Southeast Asia. With its broad scope and well-structured format, it serves as an ideal platform for trade buyers to source products and exchange vital market information.
