The University of Bergamo in Italy is located in the city center. Today, it operates as a decentralized campus and serves as a “cultural pillar” for the entire town and its province. The historic center of the upper town houses the Faculty of Humanities, which comprises various buildings (including Palazzo Pigna, Palazzo Tornielli, Palazzo Rosate, Palazzo Salvi, and the Church of Sant’Agostino). In the lower town, the San Tomaso de’ Calvi district hosts the economics and law campuses, as well as the Antonio Tiraboschi Civic Library, which functions as a cultural hub.
