World Trade Center Mexico City
World Trade Center Mexico City
The Mexico World Trade Center is a complex of buildings located in the southern part of Mexico City, which was originally the Mexico Hotel and is still named after it. Its most famous and easily recognizable feature is the Torre WTC, a 52-story, 207-meter (670 feet) skyscraper, which is the third tallest building in Mexico City (including antenna), and if measured by roof height (191 meters or 626 feet), it is the fourth tallest. When referring to the Mexico World Trade Center, people usually mean the uniquely shaped tower. The total exhibition area is 30,000 square meters, and the integrated facilities also include a conference center, cultural center, parking facilities, a multi-screen cinema, a 45-story revolving luxury restaurant, and a shopping mall with Sears as the main tenant. It will also include a 22-story hotel, currently under construction. The complex is located on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue and is served by the Polyforum station of the rapid transit system a few meters away. This station is named after part of the WTC complex - the Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros. The former Mexico Hotel, where the WTC Mexico hotel is now located, was a building and complex that never truly fulfilled its intended function.
