Medellín Airport in Colombia is the country’s second-largest airport (after Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport), located in Medellín–Rionegro. It serves as the primary international gateway for Medellín and the surrounding region, encompassing both its runways and terminal facilities.

Unlike Medellín’s Olaya Herrera Airport, which handles only domestic flights, José María Córdova International Airport accommodates both international and domestic operations. The airport is named after a Colombian general. Its runways are shared with a nearby military base, and aircraft belonging to the armed forces and the National Police can frequently be observed taking off and landing there.
