The NRG Center is equipped with a high-speed internet infrastructure, pre-wired optical fiber backbone, on-site production facilities, 120 TV monitors, and network pouring capabilities. Exclusive services include on-site support for telephone and internet, electrical, food and beverage, rigging, security, and event personnel.

NRG Stadium serves as the venue for the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and was also the site of Super Bowl XXXVIII (held on February 1, 2004), where the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 32 to 29. The halftime show at Super Bowl XXXVIII featuring Janet Jackson also sparked controversy. On April 5, 2009, the stadium hosted a "WrestleMania" event with an attendance of 72,774 and ticket sales totaling $6.9 million.

This stadium was the first in the National Football League to feature a retractable roof and natural grass. It can be configured to accommodate general meetings, dining, exhibitions, concerts, and other events using 125,000 square feet (11,600 square meters) of space. Additionally, NRG Stadium offers four large plazas for special events. The stadium's roof design provides a very flexible rigging configuration for major audio and visual presentations. The stadium is complemented by 200 suites.
