Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace, also known as Alexandra Palace, is an entertainment venue in Alexandra Park, London. It was built in 1873 with the purpose of serving as a recreational and educational center for North London, while South London had its own Crystal Palace. The planned commercial development, including hotels, replacing the ice rink, cinema, ten-pin bowling alley, and exhibition center, faced opposition from the public and was rejected by the High Court in 2007. The exhibition area at Alexandra Palace spans 10,000 square meters. The Great Hall and West Hall are typically used for exhibitions, concerts, and conferences, operated by the trading arm of a charitable trust that represents the public ownership of the building and park. There is also a bar, ice rink, and Palm Court.
