Expo Centre Sharjah
Expo Centre Sharjah
The Emirate of Sharjah began to develop the exhibition industry in 1977. In 2002, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry invested 50 million US dollars to build the Expo Centre Sharjah in a prime location in Sharjah. The exhibition center currently has 4 halls with an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters. Currently, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is investing 54.5 million US dollars to expand the exhibition facilities, and after completion, the Expo Centre Sharjah will expand its exhibition area to 70,000 square meters. Additionally, to provide convenience for exhibitors and international delegations, a hotel with 300 rooms will be built near the exhibition center.
Due to the limited exhibition space, the Expo Centre Sharjah can only host regular professional trade fairs, including:
- TEXPO, the annual Middle East International Textile Machinery, Textiles, and Accessories Trade Fair;
- Mideast Watch and Jewellery, held twice a year (spring and autumn);
- Arab Asia Trade Fair;
- Sharjah World Book Fair.
Notably, the Expo Centre Sharjah is located across the famous Khalid Lake in Sharjah, where the biennial Gulf Maritime Exhibition, one of the region's most famous maritime exhibitions, takes place.
