Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan, is the 16th largest convention center in the United States. It was built by the city of Detroit and opened originally in 1960 as Cobo Hall in memory of former Detroit Mayor Albert E. Cobo (1950-1957). In 2009, the State of Michigan established the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) and leased the facility from the City of Detroit. The five-member authority board consists of one representative from each of five government entities.
