Skolkovo Innovation Center
Skolkovo Innovation Center

The architectural design of the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow, Russia, draws on the experiences of many renowned science parks worldwide and integrates both Eastern and Western architectural traditions. These include the Zurich Science Park and the MIT Media Lab, as well as Finland’s Technopolis and Singapore’s Science Park. The building highlights three key features: first, its natural character, which seamlessly connects the park with its surrounding environment; second, its symbolic identity, underscoring the critical role of innovative research in Russia’s development; and third, its holistic yet balanced approach. According to the plan, construction is scheduled for completion in 2014, with a total floor area of 145,000 square meters, two-thirds of which will be dedicated to office space. The Skolkovo Innovation Center is expected to host between 300 and 350 partner companies, and nearly half of its residents are projected to be international professionals.
