Skolkovo Innovation Center

The architectural design of the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow, Russia, draws on the experiences of many famous science and technology parks around the world and the architectural cultures of the East and West. This includes the 'Skolkovo' partner science and technology parks such as Zurich Science Park and MIT Science Park in the United States, as well as Finland's Technology City and Singapore Science Park. The building highlights three features: first, a natural feature that closely connects the science and technology park with its surrounding environment; second, a symbolic feature that emphasizes the significance of innovative research to Russia's development; third, an overall and comprehensive feature. According to plans, the construction project will be completed by 2014. The total construction area is 145,000 square meters, two-thirds of which is office space. It is expected that about half of the residents here will be foreigners, and 300 to 350 cooperative companies will settle in the Skolkovo Science and Technology Park.
