International Congress and Convention Center
The Benghazi International Fair and Exhibition Center in Libya is a world-class venue design located in Benghazi, Libya. Situated on the Gulf of Sidra on the Mediterranean Sea, it is a major seaport and the second most populous city in the country, as well as the largest city in Cyrenaica, with an estimated population of 632,937.
It draws inspiration from traditional and Libyan culture to create a symbolic form. Although it has wings like 'Lar', it also has a strong emphasis and iconography, such as the coat of arms of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. These two sources of inspiration come together to create a symbolic structure. The project was also designed using special software to optimize sun protection. As a result, the canopy structure has excellent sun protection properties. The design and orientation of the project take into account the view from the sea.
