Industry scope
Glaucoma is a blinding eye disease associated with pathologically elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), which threatens and damages the optic nerve and visual pathways, ultimately leading to visual impairment. Breakthroughs in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment technologies have consistently been a focal point for eye care professionals.
Elevated IOP is a major risk factor for glaucoma development, making IOP monitoring a critical step in its diagnosis and management. (Copyright © Juzhan. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.)
Visual field defects also serve as a key diagnostic criterion for glaucoma. However, traditional perimetry (visual field testing) has several drawbacks, including high costs, stringent operator requirements, the need for a darkroom environment, and non-ergonomic equipment design.
