The Exhibition Value of the Ho Chi Minh City Gift Fair in Vietnam
- VIPREMIUM is Vietnam’s largest, most influential, and most premium gift and consumer goods trade fair, organized by the Korea International Exhibition Center (COEX). Focused on the high-end market, it ranks among the region’s premier exhibitions for household products and gift‑related trends in ASEAN. Held annually at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, the fair operates under the SIPREMIUM model, serving as a leading indicator of Vietnam’s premium consumption trends and the preferred trade platform for Chinese companies seeking to enter the Vietnamese market.
- The core value of participation lies in its role as a precision‑driven platform connecting exhibitors with Vietnam’s rapidly expanding consumer markets and those of ASEAN. With Vietnam’s population poised to surpass 100 million and its middle class projected to reach 36 million by 2025, consumer goods constitute the country’s third-largest import category, accounting for 10% of total imports. By 2025, the fair is expected to attract over 350 exhibiting companies from around the globe and 30,000 professional visitors, with participants hailing from China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and other countries and regions. Driven by rising incomes, accelerating urbanization, and robust housing development, household consumption is forecasted to grow at a compound annual rate of 9.6%, underscoring an exceptionally promising market outlook.
- The fair establishes a one-stop commercial platform covering the entire gift and consumer goods value chain. Exhibits span a full spectrum of categories, including gifts, household items, kitchenware, home décor, outdoor products, handicrafts, stationery and office supplies, beauty and health products, consumer electronics, and food and beverages. Throughout the event, a variety of specialized seminars and buyer–seller matchmaking sessions are held, providing exhibitors with invaluable face-to-face networking opportunities; many report highly satisfactory outcomes.
- The fair aligns with three major industry trends—premiumization, design leadership, and ASEAN connectivity—creating a showcase for innovative products and cutting-edge cultural trends. Focusing on the high-end segment, the exhibition features home appliances, interior décor, cosmetics, fashion, food, and other sectors, highlighting cutting-edge innovations and superior quality. Exhibitors can present a wide array of gifts and household products, such as decorative accents, toys, kitchenware, stationery, and small household appliances. Attendees also have the opportunity to experience the latest trends and design philosophies firsthand.
- For Chinese enterprises, this fair serves as a strategic gateway to penetrate the Vietnamese market, tap into ASEAN resources, and capitalize on tariff advantages. Vietnam has ratified 15 active free-trade agreements, including the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), offering significant tariff benefits. China remains Vietnam’s largest trading partner, top source of imports, and second-largest export destination; bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$230.2 billion in 2021, up 19.7% year over year. Moreover, Vietnam permits RMB settlement in border areas with China, greatly facilitating cross-border commerce. Participating companies can leverage this platform to connect with ASEAN procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the fast-growing Vietnamese and broader ASEAN gift and consumer goods markets.
