展会简介
The Exhibition Value of the Shanghai International Long‑Duration Energy Storage Expo
- The LDES Long‑Duration Energy Storage Expo is China’s largest and most specialized industry event in the long‑duration energy storage sector. Hosted by the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and held in conjunction with GPOWER Power Expo, EPOWER All‑Electric Expo, and IDCE Data Center Expo, the exhibition has been successfully staged for fourteen editions and is widely recognized within the industry as a leading indicator of technological advancement in long‑duration energy storage and a central hub for connecting the entire value chain. The expo focuses on long‑duration energy storage technologies such as flow batteries, compressed air energy storage, and gravitational energy storage, serving as a crucial platform for scaling up the deployment of next‑generation energy storage solutions.
- The core value of participation lies in its comprehensive, end‑to‑end industry coverage and its unique ability to connect exhibitors directly with key stakeholders, including grid operators and major power generation groups. The exhibition spans the entire value chain, encompassing long‑duration energy storage systems, critical components (such as stacks, electrodes, membranes, electrolytes, and bipolar plates), ancillary equipment (including energy storage inverters, battery management systems, and energy management systems), manufacturing machinery, and testing and certification services. Its professional audience includes State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, the five major power generation groups, power research institutes, power plant investors, EPC contractors, data center operators, petrochemical companies, metallurgical enterprises, and other large end‑use energy consumers, providing exhibitors with a strategic gateway to engage directly with core purchasing decision‑makers.
- The expo has established an international platform that links global long‑duration energy storage resources, continuously enhancing its industry influence. At the 14th edition in 2025, the event achieved record-breaking scale, with an exhibition area of 52,000 square meters, 927 exhibiting companies, and 37,525 professional visitors, including 2,633 international attendees from 72 countries and regions—underscoring its pivotal role in fostering cross‑border collaboration. Industry leaders such as Dalian Borong, Weilide Energy, Dali Energy Storage, Beijing Lvfan, XinXin Vanadium‑Titanium, Zhonghai Energy Storage, Shanghai Electric, Huantai Energy Storage, Xingchen New Energy, and Yunda Intelligent Storage all participated, presenting a panoramic showcase of the complete energy storage value chain—from materials and manufacturing to applications and recycling.
- The expo aligns closely with three major industry trends—technological innovation, standards‑driven development, and industrial implementation—creating a robust ecosystem for deep integration among academia, industry, research, and end users. Concurrent with the expo, the Flow Battery Technology Development Forum was convened, chaired by Guo Yan, Secretary-General of the Standardization Technical Committee for Flow Batteries in the energy sector, featuring keynote presentations by authoritative experts including Zhang Huamin, Chief Researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Xiaoli, General Manager of Dalian Rongke Energy Storage; and Yang Linlin, General Manager of Shanghai Electric Energy Storage. The forum featured 13 high‑quality sessions addressing core topics such as flow battery R&D, commercialization, cost control, and material innovation, covering all major technology pathways—including all‑vanadium, iron–chromium, and zinc–bromine systems. Throughout the event, more than one hundred additional thematic sessions were also held, including the Second China Electrical Equipment Industry Development Forum and the Sixth Data Center Green Energy Conference, establishing a premier platform for industry dialogue and business collaboration.
- For Chinese enterprises, this expo serves as a strategic gateway to expand domestic and international markets, access global resources, and showcase innovative capabilities. The exhibition brings together leading players in the flow battery space, including Dalian Borong, Weilide, Dali Energy Storage, Beijing Lvfan, XinXin Vanadium‑Titanium, Zhonghai Energy Storage, Shanghai Electric, and Huantai Energy Storage, alongside top-tier power equipment brands such as Weichai Power, Yuchai Marine Power, Taihao Power, and Ketai Power. Exhibiting companies can leverage this platform to connect with grid operators, power generation groups, power plant operators, data center providers, and other key procurement entities, seizing early opportunities in the scaling-up phase of the long‑duration energy storage industry.
