The International Hospitality & Catering Trade Fair in Barcelona, Spain (Hostelco), held concurrently with Alimentaria (Barcelona Food Exhibition), attracted over 3,200 exhibitors from 68 countries. Approximately 107,900 professionals visited the event, with 25% being international attendees from 120 countries/regions. The net exhibition area reached 100,000 square meters, occupying nearly the entire space of the Gran Via Venue at Fira de Barcelona.
Hostelco has once again proven to be a strategic event for the internationalization of exhibiting companies. This edition featured over 900 international companies, predominantly from Italy, with a notable return of Asian companies, particularly from China, South Korea, and Thailand. The exhibition reaffirmed its leadership by strengthening the complementarity of the sectors it represents and providing a robust business platform for professionals. Attendees included 2,200 key buyers from major food and hospitality equipment markets such as the EU, the US, and Latin America.
J. Antonio Valls, Director of Alimentaria, stated, "This edition has been a tremendous success in terms of internationalization, having fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels and attracting buyers from strategic countries like China, which demonstrates our strong appeal."
Food innovation, gastronomy, the rise of protein products, and the latest trends in the hospitality sector were the main highlights of over 350 concurrent events, attracting nearly 700 authoritative experts and top chefs.
Hostelco also showcased hundreds of innovations, including functional and health foods. The digital transformation underway in the industry was clearly evident, with new technologies and AI being integrated into operations and services through robotics and novel solutions to optimize restaurant management and customer service.
