The China International Energy Storage Conference & Smart Energy Storage Technology Exhibition (CESC), themed "Empowering Dual Carbon Goals • Driving the Future with Storage," systematically interprets the progress and development trends of the new energy storage industry. It comprehensively showcases domestic and international product development and application dynamics, focusing on green energy to accelerate the achievement of the "Dual Carbon" goals.

As the global energy transition accelerates, advancing the energy revolution and building a new power system have become a global consensus. As a core component coordinating "source-grid-load-storage" interactions and balancing dynamic power supply and demand, new energy storage has become a crucial pillar for achieving China's national strategy of "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality." Following sustained multi-dimensional policy support during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, policy guidance, industrial support, and demonstration applications for new energy storage have been continuously strengthened during the "14th Five-Year Plan." This has propelled the industry from its initial commercialization phase into large-scale application, ushering in a period of rapid development with strong endogenous growth momentum.

Driven by the passage of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), persistently high European power futures prices, and China's mandatory energy storage allocation policies, the share of global wind and solar power generation is projected to exceed 20% by 2025, with China's share approaching 18%. Correspondingly, the annual new demand for new energy storage globally and domestically is expected to surpass 90 GW and 35 GW, respectively. By 2030, China's wind and solar power share is projected to near 30%, with annual new energy storage demand potentially exceeding 60 GW. The new energy storage industry chain encompasses key materials, cell systems, inverter integration, thermal management and fire protection, monitoring and O&M, scenario demonstrations, and recycling. Continuous iteration and upgrading of new products, applications, and business models present innovative opportunities for the large-scale, comprehensive, and high-quality development of new energy storage.

As a national strategic emerging industry oriented toward green energy systems and new power systems, new energy storage still faces prominent challenges, including an incomplete industry standard system, limited demonstration application scenarios, imperfect trading mechanisms, and the urgent need for breakthroughs in key technologies and core processes. To facilitate the rapid, high-quality, and robust development of the new energy storage industry and to establish a high-end platform for industry exchange and sharing, the China International Energy Storage Conference & Smart Energy Storage Technology Exhibition (CESC) was launched.
