AnimeJapan has become one of the largest anime-themed creative exhibitions in the world.It is jointly organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, The Association of Japanese Animations, and the AnimeJapan Executive Committee.

The previous edition of AnimeJapan covered a total exhibition area of 59,000 square meters, attracting 638 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions, including Italy, South Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, the United States, Germany, Canada, and Brazil. The event drew 152,331 attendees. Every year, hundreds of top international animation studios, game developers, and film & television companies participate. It serves as a premier platform to understand the current status and development trends of the global animation industry and to access worldwide animation resources.

The AnimeJapan Awards are a highlight of the exhibition. Thanks to the contributions of numerous pioneers in the field, today's animation industry has reached a highly advanced level. To further drive this progress, since 2005, the AnimeJapan Awards have presented "Achievement Awards" to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the animation industry and culture. This award has successfully inspired innovative and talented individuals, making positive contributions to the education and training of animation professionals, the exchange of animation culture, and the promotion of industry development.

Japan is widely known as the "Kingdom of Anime" and is the world's largest producer and exporter of animation. Currently, over 60% of animated works broadcast globally originate from Japan, with this figure exceeding 80% in Europe. Among Japan's diverse cultural industries, anime programs aired in cinemas and on television are particularly prominent. Anime characters are ubiquitous on the streets, having long transcended magazines and television to permeate every corner of Japanese society.
